The whole month of October has been quite stressful, but getting better.
Some of you know I lost two family members in less than two weeks, which meant two funerals. It was a very sad time, but these two people are no longer suffering and that is good.
We got a few stuff animals from my mother-n-law's Hospice room and my kids and I put special items on a bookshelf that will remind us of Grandma along with a recent picture of her with my three children. My kids love it and it helps them to remember her and talk about her.
I was also in clinicals for two weeks at a Nursing home and what a wonderful time that was!! Some of these elderly people were so sweet and I wanted to take a few home with me. One gentleman asked me to take him home with me.
Before taking my boys out to trick and treat I took them to the nursing home dressed in their customs. What a treat it was for some of the residents!! One of my favorites doesn't get many visitors and my boys brought hugh smiles to her face. My boys also met the resident who is 104 years old and she had my kids laughing. At a 104 she still has a great sense of humor.
I also did well on my Chemistry mid-term and final for my CNA class. The next big hurdle is November 10th when I have to take my state test to be CNA.
I know this post is long. Sorry.

Hi Barb, Isn't it something how in the middle of sorrow life brings us treasured moments. I can see your boys looking cute in their holloween costumes cheering up the crowd at the nursing home. Congrats on your classes, I'm back in school studing also. I can relate to life being a whirlwind sometimes. Paintlady

What a good idea about the nursing home, Barbara. I usually take my cousins around Thanksgiving to a nursing home that my great aunt was in for a while. The girls love putting on plays and shows so they always do a couple for them. The residents love it and the girls usually walk away with a few crafts they did with them.

Barbara,
You are such an amazing person...during such a hard time you still think of what will make others smile and are always able to see the positive side of any situation.
You are an amazing person and should be proud of the person you are.
Hope things will slow down for you soon so you can take a breather.
Take care,

Barbara, I know things have been hard for you lately, but I'm glad you can at least laugh, smile, and see the good in everything! How sweet of you to take your boys to the nursing home in their Halloween costumes. I can just see the smiles on those residents' faces! Do you know how much that brightened their day (month?) (year?)? And congratulations on your good grades. That's excellent! You go, girl!
