I got a little package from Ruchie and it totally made my day yesterday. BIG PUBLIC THANK YOU to Ruchie for making a very hard day a lot better!!

My mom was in the hospital all day on Friday and I spent a good 9 hours with her getting her labs checked, holding her hand, etc. She had a cardiac crisis on Thursday after doing some yard work and I only found out Friday morning. It was very hard dealing with her because her reaction on Thursday was to write a note in pencil saying she loved us all and if she died it was because she'd had what she thought was a heart attack at 4:30pm. Only she would think to write a note instead of calling 911 OR her doctor OR one of her kids. I got really sad and frustrated when I found out, and I drove her to the emergency room asap when she told me the next day.

So dealing with my mom, the hospital culture, and all the sadness and frustration would have made me crushed as it is, except I'd been burning the candle at both ends for the week prior and was not feeling well myself that day. I opened the package and read Ruchie's kind note and almost cried at the pure, kind sentiment of friendship and love (and the timing)!

I hope everybody here will get a piece of what I felt yesterday from a friend!! And I hope everybody gets to know what a kind, good, unselfish, caring soul Ruchie is.

I'm sorry your mom didn't call 911 or you. That is very odd. I hope that se's ok now.

Ruchie has a heart of gold!!! I'm so glad that she made your day. Sounds like you needed it!

She does have a heart of gold. She really made my day in a big way.

My mom is very stubborn, meaning she knows the right thing to do, but doesn't do it. She got lectures from EVERYBODY in the hospital. I made her tell the nurse, the doctor, EVERYBODY what she did instead of calling 911. After the 6th lecture or so, she actually got quiet and said "I think I made a mistake."

Isn't she a sweetie! I also received a card from her a couple of weeks ago just giving me support to get through all of this testing I have been going through. I sent her a private thank you but I also want to give a public one as well. You are a beautiful person Ruchie. Thank you so much for caring!!

Nelly I hope that your mom is doing better! She is in my prayers.

Her EKG was clear and her tests showed no signs of blood clots. She has a nuclear medicine follow-up with the specialist on Monday, and we're hoping to get a CAT scan of her head as well because she's had recurrent headaches which were worse while she was having her chest pains.

I hope she'll be willing to go on Monday because she's very strong-headed about refusing medical treatment. She said she doesn't want to bother anyone. I'm hoping to get her into therapy because she's showing signs of depression.

It must have been an eye opener to appreciating your mom, not that you didn't already.
And Ruchie has the biggest heart of all the opeople I've ever encountered. it doesn't surprise me at all that you said that. She is all heart. WE are lucky to be in her presence.

I have also been meaning to post something similar. I also got a super-nice parcel from Ruchie the other day. Life has really sucked lately, and a gesture like that really made my day.

So, Ruchie, thanks again -- you're a wonderful person. I know being wonderful doesn't mean great health, but I'm still hoping hard for you. Keep taking care of yourself.

GOOD! Now your mom knows. Too funny that you made her tell everyone what she did. I bet that almost felt good.

You are so sweet! Thanks, S-S. Do you know anyone who slaps sense into mothers? I could use their services, right now. Currently I'm just using my in-house resources to manage my mother convincing/big picture clarifying requirements.
