However, for the end of the first quarter I'd like it to be 7-Seahawks, 0-Steelers then I will win that part of my football pool. Then the Steelers can finish it off and win the Superbowl. How's that sound?!?!?!?

Whatcha doing for the Superbowl Ashley?

We always have a Superbowl party at our house. (any excuse to have a family gathering!) Lots of snacks, fun and laughing, with all of our children, in-laws, siblings, and grandchildren. We love football in our house!!!

well I'm not 100% sure as of yet..

one of my friends from school bought an new HDTV and is having a superbowl party

and my bestfriend's older sisters bestfriend won a superbowl party at a bar in downtown boston.

I'm leaning towards the party, bc it will be more chill, relaxed and I won't feel so foolish screaming at the tv and chilling on the couch. The bar sounds appealing as well, but I think people will be less into the game there and more into mingling. I'd be more likely to get annoyed if people were talking during big plays. haha I know I'm a dork, but this is the steelers we're talking about!!

You should probably go to the house party vs the bar. Since it is your team playing you need to see all the plays and if you are in a bar it could be very distracting. You are not a dork at all!!!! Good choice! Some day the bar scene will just totally get on your nerves. But when I was your age it was definitly the thing to do. We went to see a band the other week at a bar. It was a band that a guy my husband works with's son was in. They were really good but I was so miserable being there. First of all they didn't start until 10pm which I know is the norm but I'm like usually in bed by then or just chilling watching TV. So I took a shower at 9pm which seemed really weird since I normally take them in the morning. We left at 10 and of course there was not an empty booth or seat so we stood from 10 till 2 My back was killing me, my eyes burned like an SOB from the smoke and the air or something was on cause I was freezing. Not to mention when we got home we reaked of smoke. We put our clothes in another room cause they were so bad! Ughhhh I wish they'd ban smoking in bars. I think I might like them a tad bit better.
So Ash, you can call yourself a dork for not wanting to go to the bar and you can call me Miss goody goody for not wanting to go to bars! I don't drink too which makes it worse cause it's completely not accepted. Everyone is constantly saying, get a drink, get a beer or whatever. I wanna smack them!

Ok, done rant on bars! Go Steelers!

It's close to home... and I'm NOT A football fan... and my sewing machine just got back from a massive cleaning and repair!

I do plan on watching the commercials afterwards on VOD on Comcast... they will have them all without interruptions, so I don't have to wait through the stupid game for them this year or just wait until they air later...

haha ya.. I don't mind bars too much.. I was mostly feeling like a dork for actually hemming and hawing over which superbowl viewing choice was ideal

Anyways.. as for the bars.. there's no smoking anywhere in Mass so we dont' need to worry about that, but i'm not a fan of packed places where you can't get a seat for the life of you! Not ideal for the biggest game of the year!

Mu hubby turned me into a complete football addict. I'm even reading the book "Get your own damn beer, I'm watching the game" by Holly Robinson Peete. I will be cooking up all of the football fixins, boneless chicken tenders deep fried and smothered in buffalo sauce, chili cheese dip(for the hubby), chips, dips etc.... Any excuse to fix a feast! And, I know I am going to catch a lot of crap from my fellow Washingtonians, but GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!! I love them. Though, this is not our team, we are Chiefs fans through and through. I just really want to see the Bus win it and be able to retire to the bus barn with a big ole trophy to keep him warm and cozy at night. I love that big guy, one of my favorite backs in the NFL.
