I have been keeping tabs on the elections from various websites (politics in general are a hobby of mine)and I was wondering who is planning on voting and who are you voting for? I don't want to turn it into a political debate (we all know how those turn out on the boards). I am more curious than anything else!

But my class was part of the 'Youth campaign' or whatever, when they get an entire school to vote as if they were 18.
I voted Green party, as they have the best approaches concerning the environment, governmental spending, and honestly, I want them to get at least ONE seat this year.
Did you know that one vote for the Green party is equivalent to almost 600 votes for any majority party? That means that they have such a tiny chance of making it. :/ Boo to that.

Hmm, pretty interesting. I know I would vote Conservative if I were to ever move to Canada. And who knows, maybe one day I will...

although I live in Canada, pay taxes and grew up here, I was born in the USA so I can't. I listen to all the debates in my business classes and economics and feel so out of the loop. I haven't really followed it because I am not entitled to vote anywhere

Myself and my DH are both voting. This is amazing, bec. he's 28 and has never voted. he hates politics. I love NDP and will likely vote them...but would vote Conservative to get Paul out for a while. I am def. left wing, but we need some serious financial reform.
Et tu, Tommay?

I'll be casting my ballot FOR SURE! NDP. I almost always vote NDP, and this time around the candidate is only 2 years older than me (23), also a student - and BY FAR is the most well spoken, mature, intellgent of all the candidates in my riding. Far and above the incumbent 50-something Liberal who's held the seat for the past 15 years or so!
I've been doing a bunch of advocacy stuff on campus to try to get students to get out and VOTE. (It's so *annoying* how pathetic the youth vote is most years!)

As for me, I would vote Conservative if I lived in Canada (which may happen one day). I just find it to be quite interesting there is such a divide amongst the electorate in Canada. It is very similar here. Even the candidates have resorted to mud-slinging as they do here too... Very interesting indeed.

Hey, that is so cool that you are rallying people to vote. I vote as much I can. There have been many people who died for our right to vote and have a voice in government. In the U.S. and Canada it is a shame that so many people don't vote.

Yeah, we tend to be pretty liberal and peaceful and Euro...but it's changing. We're so sick of being used.
but I love the liberal views and I'm sort of a hippie, but not a communist or an anarchist. Need SOME kind of order, LOL! my heart is NDP so I'll likely vote them.

that this will be almost record breaking for Gen Xers and voting(for Canada anyhow) and that's a great thing. If we can keep the momentum going...see our Premier is an eighth grade dropout who just happens to be good with money sort of...he's sending out $400 cheques to every albertan in the next week or so because we have soooo much free money. And our schoolc can't afford to hire teachers, and our classrooms are crowdwd, and our healthcare wait for a doctor is 2-3 hours, and there's 6 billion dollar debt to the Alberta teacher's Association that mysteriously doen't get accounted for in their "no debt" debt. And he's a conservative. He's murdered healthcare and education but because he's keeping the oil barons and BUSINESSMEN(DH) happy he keeps getting like an 85% vote. All the teachers, doctors and helathcare workers hate his guts. WHO KNOWS WHY????

We shall see then... I hope there is a record turnout. It is best thing that could happen.
