There are a few that I usually try to catch:
- West Wing
- Lost
- Simpsons
- Extras
- Family Guy
- American Dad
I've also recently been watching a show that, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has a cheezy name but is actually (in my opinion) one of the better shows on TV: Battlestar Galactica. Despite the setting, it's far more like a drama than any other 'sci-fi' show that I've seen - it's pretty dark and intense. I don't know how good it would be to come in halfway through the story, as it relies on a lot of prior character development, but if you can catch some of the 1st season shows, it might be worth checking out.

Thats one of the best shows of all time. Lucielle Ball was a classic act! I LOVE that show, especially the vita-meata-veggimine, and there is an episode where she gets to be in a movie, and has to wear a head dress, then she gets to be shot, but the head dress is too heavy for her, and she falls all over the place.
My daughter watched an episode one time, at first she was like THIS IS STUPID! but the faces Lucy made, and the pnysical comic stuff she did had my dahghter ROLLING and she's only 5 1/2! It's really hard to be a female comidean (sp?) too if you ask me!!

When "I Love Lucy" first came on the small screen, I was very young. It was 1949, and I was 5 and a half years old. My parents invited friends over for cocktails, and they'd sit in the living room, drinking, while watching Lucy.
It was Monday night, 9:00 p.m. I was supposed to be in bed then, but I really, REALLY wanted to watch Lucy. One time, I opened my bedroom door a tiny bit, just wide enough so I could peek through, and I put my little stool in front of my door, where I sat and watched. I got a great shot from my door through the hall and through the living room to the TV in the corner.
Unfortunately, my mother got up to go to the bathroom, and passed by my door. She caught me, of course, went and got the wooden paddle, came back to me, laid me on the bed on my tummy, pulled down my pajama bottoms, and beat me with that wooden paddle until I was blistered and screaming in pain.
I was never able to watch Lucy after that.

Oh, no, don't be sad! Maybe I shouldn't have posted that. Don't feel sorry for me. My mother did me a HUGE favor. I came out SOOOO much stronger as a result of her beatings and mental abuse. It's been a struggle for me all my life, but I can now look at my brothers objectively and see how far I really have come, as opposed to how they've stayed the same, and in fact are just like her.
I did a LOT of growing, moving away from the abuse, and refusing to tolerate it, mentally or physically, from anyone ever again. As my hubby has told me over and over again, I turned out SOOO much better than any of my family. AND I did it all on my own, with no help from anyone. I'm very proud of that. So please don't be sad! And don't be sorry for me.
Just before my beloved father died, he confided in my hubby's mother; he said, "I have three children that I love dearly, but Beverly is really MINE." At the time, I didn't know what he meant by that, but I sure do now. I'm the only one who turned out JUST LIKE HIM.
I understand from my older brother that my mother is still alive but living a miserable existence. What goes around, comes around....

sigh, why do we ever have to endure crap like that? Whenever we went to visit my dad, we'd get frequent spankings (daily)... dad would hit me 7-8 times, so it wasn't actually a spanking (I just realized this this month..funny how you just accept abuse as normal)...and I suffered awful mental abuse with my mom's ex...my mom is beginning to, 20 years later, admit we were abused by him. He molested my sister. ask me why I'm a special education teacher, I dare ya....
What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.I believe it, i live it. resiliency is a huge marker for success, and abused kids need it for survival.
I'm proud that you've never given up the good fight.

It is so hilarious, I could watch it over and over. I was excited when I heard they were bringing it to US TV, but then it is so so so not as funny. Love anything Ricky Gervais does. But it is not for everyone AT ALL.
I also like... "Friends" "Amazing Race" "One Tree Hill" (Sad, I know) "King of Queens" (Only as of lately) "ER"
I do like TV a lot. I love to laugh, but am kinda picky about what I think is funny. Ha, I am a comedy snob, hee hee. I love movies too.
