So sorry to hear about your hospital experience. Hopefully you are doing much better now.
I remember when I had appendicitis and they took my appendix out in emergency surgery. Afterwards, I was hooked up to several IV's with the bags hanging on a pole. I had to "GO" and pressed for the nurse.....well, no nurse came. I just had to sit on the edge of my bed and unplug the darn machine ( in terrible pain from just being stitched up) and roll the poles with IV bags down to the bathroom cause I just couldn't wait. I'm sure you know what I mean.
Anyway, all turned out well and I recovered.
Hope you're feeling better soon.

Oh, poor Carol! How did your potassium get so low? I'm glad to hear you're better! Hugs.

Glad to hear your ordeal is over. My husband is on a couple of very strong diuretics, so I know what you mean about all of this. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids, because my husband really dries out fast on these diuretics. And, he's had nocturnal leg cramps from a lack of potassium, also related to the taking of his pills. Can you take potassium supplements? Goodness, you were in a heck of a state for awhile there, but glad you're okay now!

Thanks. Yes, I am on a supplement now. In the hosp. they were giving me 8 pills a day that looked like big yellow M&M's. I will be on them for a week then have a blood test to see how the levels are.

Oh no, Carol! I was so shocked to hear you ended up in the hospital. And I'm sorry that you lost Richie's t-shirt - I know how much it meant to you. However, I'm glad you're back home and getting better.

Take it easy. I've been there (i.e. hospitalized for dehydration/low potassium). Get some sleep.
Kate.
