I'd have to say, a project I got to work on this past Easter. I love to do stuff w/ video, & was given the opprotunity to work on one, from writing it out, to compiling the pictures' & doing artwork for it & writing & directing a short play, working with music, the whole thing! I wish I could do that for a living, but alas, no college education. It came off beautifully, & people were effected by it. The next would be my car accident, good things are still to come from it, I may end up debt free!! WOW And finally, this site. I love the stuff I can discuss w/out being embarresed around you ladies & gents. I've leared alot & hope I've helped others! Thanx soooo much everyone! Have a wonderful New Year!!

ooooh thats a good question..
I think its probably the fact that my family and I were able to spend a lot of time together, and get along fabulously. We went on a cruise to the bahamas last spring, a trip to arizona this winter, a trip to norfolk, virginia together for a week this summer, and were also able to spend easter, thanksgiving and christmas all together. I consider myself very lucky for the trips i've been able to go on, and the time i've been able to spend with my family despite living hundreds of miles away from them and being a student and part time job holder.

I have had a tough year, but have also been blessed with really cool things. I can come up with 4 best things...my sister had her first child(I became an aunt) then my SIL had her first child (DH became an uncle), I got my big break in teaching-but am back to having no job right now...and of course, I found you guys and confirmed that IBS is not all in my head. Thank God!

I turned hubby around. Last year, when he turned 70, he decided he did not want a birthday or Christmas. The man said he felt like he was sitting around waiting for the Grim Reaper. I was instructed not to even mention his birthday, send him a card, get him a gift, or ANYTHING. So for his birthday, there was nothing. At Christmas, there was no tree, no celebration, no NOTHING. Bah-Humbug! The end of 2004 was a very sad year.
I had been praising him for how physically fit he is and how he constantly works at it, that he's in better shape than most 30 year-olds. I mean, the man has NO fat on him whatsoever and takes NO MEDS. He can pull 10,000 meters on the rowing machine to my measly 4,000.
But did all my praise do any good? NOOOOOOOO. I was glad when 2004 ended.
The beginning of 2005, I decided we needed to start the New Year off with a better attitude. I told hubby if he wants to be a martyr and spend the rest of his life "waiting for the grim reaper" when we could be out kayaking and enjoying nature, or celebrating the birth of Jesus, enjoying the days we DO have left, then he'll have to do it by himself, because we only go around once, and I have no intention of wasting it. I said I wasn't gonna let him bring me down any longer.
The man did a complete 180! Not only did we celebrate his 71st in 2005 in style, but Christmas this year was FANTASTIC. Christmas night in bed, he turned to me and thanked me, telling me how wonderful his Christmas was and how much he appreciated me for it.
THAT's the best thing that happened to me this year. HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!

My Dad and stepmom coming for Christmas and staying for a week, definitely. Living up here, I don't see my family nearly as much as I'd like to, so that automatically made it the best holiday I've ever had, but then we just had so much FUN the rest of the week. Definitely my 2005 highlight... it's a shame I had to wait 11 3/4 months for it! LOL

- Joining these boards and meeting so many amazing people, especially my fiance Tommy!
- leaving a horrible relationship, moving out on my own.
- gaining back my self-esteem and independance.
- finding out who my true friends really are.

The best thing that has happened to me this year has been getting my adorable kitty, Lacey. Although I don't get to spend as much time as I would like to with her, she doesn't hold it against me and is always there to snuggle with me at night no matter how my day was.

My hubby asked us all the very same question New Year's Eve as we were driving to a friend's house. I would have to say that aside from all of my family being in good health, the best thing that happened to us was being able to go on our Disney trip in April and watch our children's expressions and seeing them experience it. It was just awesome. I don't know if we will ever be able to afford to go again but I at least have that memory forever!
Happy New Year too everyone!
