Just wondering what people do for fun!?!? I'm trying to find some new hobbies, and I'm looking for ideas.

Unfortunately I don't have a ton of time.. but new ideas are great to keep in the back of my mind.

My current hobbies are..
Cooking/Baking
Decorating
Dancing
Reading
Football aka the Steelers

What are yours..

Oh, let's see...

Knitting/crochet/woodworking/other crafts
Cooking & baking
Hiking
Camping
Football aka the Patriots
Yard sales/thrift store digs
Reading, sometimes
Gardening
Photography

I think there's more, but those are the biggies anyway.

reading
watching movies
playing with my cat
baking/cooking

I have a candle-making set Mac gave me last Christmas I still haven't done anything with, as well as a few sewing projects that aren't finished....unfortunately being a student gets in the way of me being as crafty as I'd like!

Does reading count?

I really don't have many. I used to fence in the SCA, but that's fallen by the wayside in the last year or two.

Every now & then, I think I should get a hobby because I am surrounded by folks who have multiple hobbies. Then I get all cynical and think about how there's no room to store stuff in this tiny crammed-with-stuff house, how I'm not very crafty, and who really needs or wants another handmade whatever anyway?

Heh. Maybe cynicism is my hobby.

I like to make jewelry with swarovski cyrstals and nice seed beads, although I haven't done much of it lately. I would be more than happy to give instructions and provide a few good web sites to order from if you are interested in learning. I also like to garden in the summer and I've just gotten into scrapbooking in the last year or so! Now, I'm all about my new puppy, Harley!

I also enjoy:

cooking
cross-stitch
sewing
plants (mostly houseplants and such)
my kids!

Suzy homemaker stuff...I love homemade things, I love the idea that people care enough to spend time on something specifically for me. I also enjoy giving homemade stuff but know it isn't for everyone.

My daughter has a family tree assignment and I have really enjoyed researching our family tree. There have been some really funny revelations....one is my father doesn't remember the names of his grandparents! I don't think I would make this a full-time hobby but I have had fun helping my little one with her project.

ooh I want to learn how to garden, but I live in the city in a condo. Hopefully someday i'll learn when I move away from here. I tend to kill every plant i've ever owned though. My mom is a fabulous gardener with an amazing garden. I'm hoping she'll give me tips when the time comes.

Scrapbooking actually seems fun. Maybe I should try that when I get more time.

I haven't done much lately but I do most yarn arts except tatting. I have never seen it done so can't seem to get the hang of it. I wish I had a pic of the fillet crochet christening gown I made out of thin thread. I made a lot of sweaters etc. when the nieces were small.
I also paint, made and decorated wedding and birthday cakes, used to make jewelry, used to make my own clothes, all kindsa crafty stuff. Now I stay on my computer all day.

Well, if your condo has a balcony or porch, you can start with a few container plants! If you want a good house plant to start with thats easy, try a philodendron.

Scrapbooking is fun and very addictive! You can spend a lot of money without trying but you can also make great scarp book pages without all the fancy stickers and do- dads! Lana Marie opened her own scrapbook store so she would be a great one to get ideas from!

...camping is the hardest to pull together and actually DO. I always had a hard time finding other people who would want to go, other than my family. Now Adam loves to camp, but the weather has seriously stunk EVERY weekend for the past 2 summers!

I had a plot at the community plots about 4 summers ago. The trouble was, that was the summer we got 12 inches of rain...6 in one night at the beginning of the summer and 6 in one night at the end of the summer.

The second rain happened when my watermelons were just starting to grow. They were all mouldy after the water went down. To add insult to injury, there were ducks SWIMMING in my plot after that rain too!
But, I gotta say, the heirloom home-grown tomatoes I got that summer were entirely worth it. If it weren't for the rain, I may have had a decent garden that year. I will garden again someday, just not sure when.

I don't have any typical hobbies I guess but here's what I keep busy with
Music - I listen to classical/jazz/alternative rock
I play renaissance and baroque music on original instruments (well copies of them anyway) I did a masters in historical performance but these days only play at home.
Also Feldenkrais method - I don't know if that is a hobby but its what takes up a lot of my time- I'm studying to be a practitioner and practice a lot on my own and with friends
www.feldenkrais.com if you're interested in learnign about it. (Unfortunately it hasn't directly helped my ibs but its helped so many other things in my life)
oh and watching mel brooks and marx brothers movies

I don't have alot of time either being a student and a mom to a 2 year old. When I do have time though I love to:
Scrapbook(where I spend most of my husbands money )
Reading
Shopping (especially on rainy days)
Decorating (or as someone said re-arranging)
And lately my hobbie has been my son's indoor playgroup (since it is winter and then in the spring we revert to the playground and pool)

Not much but I somehow keep myself busy!
Make sure you enjoy what you do and be confident in it.

My hobbies are:
Playing drums
Listening to new music
Reading
Shopping
Cooking
Movies

Pretty general. I like to garden in the spring, though it does kill my back, it's worth it to see the yard look nice. I used to play piano, but haven't touched it lately. If I could learn a new instument it would be guitar, my brother plays & I tried to learn once, but I got this pain in my fingers shortly afterwords, so oh well. I love these questions you put up Spicey!!
