Mindy, oh yea, they do awfully well in terms of compensation.

BUT, on the good news front, there seems to be some VERY hopeful signs and developments this morning. I hope a deal will be announced today. But, I will believe it when I see it!

Tommy's probably already left work to battle the commute home, so I thought I'd post the good news ...

The strikers went back to work! Everything is supposed to be normal by midnight tonight. They haven't come to an agreement on the contract but I think the strikers got the message that their strike was illegaly and costly for both them and the city, and that the MTA would not negotiate with law-breaking strikers. Hoorah!

i am so relieved. though a chat with a guy who walked to work (28th & 7th) from spanish harlem puts things into perspective, this three-miles-in-the-cold thing got old *fast*.

Yes, I am psyched. I actually took off today. I just had enough and I really wanted to be well-rested for my flight tomorrow morning. I had told my Dad and a few people that I didn't think this would go into Christmas because if it did then it would have def. dragged on until just before New Year's. I am glad the union did the right thing and came back.
This is a great early Christmas gift. Hooray for New York!
