Amy was a poster on these boards for a long time, and many of you have become close to her and still care about her. Well, she emailed me to let me know that her dad had a big heart attack last night. He's doped up on Morphine and is stable for now in the hospital in the country town where they live.
Amy is really upset and worried. She didn't ask me to post this, but I thought some of you would want to know...and her dad could use all the prayers he can get. And Amy too...she is devastated, needless to say.
Thanks

Hi everyone Thank you all so much. I can't tell you all what it means to me right now to know that even though I've been a stranger you still care and are there for me I just wanted to let you all know Dad is doing okay. He's been transferred from his local hospital to the big one over here and I got to see him tonight. He looks very fragile and he's not quite himself but he was making a few jokes and stuff.
He has to have an angiogram tomorrow and possible angioplasty (sp?) and he also has to quit the smokes (which I am going to do with him so we can suffer withdrawal together!). I'll let you all know how things are going whenever I can.
Thanks again for caring

Great to hear from you Amy, although I wish it were under better circumstances. I'm praying for your father and all of you. Good luck with the quitting smoking. That's very good of you to quit with him and help him out in that way. I hope you'll visit us more often, Big hugs to you, Terri

I will continue to pray that his recovery goes well....and good for you for giving up the smokes in support of dad.
I'm glad you were able to see him...I know you were feeling so helpless sitting at home. And I'm sure he was so happy to see you! Good for his healing!

My thoughts and prayers are with you. My Dad had a heart attack in the 90's. He ended up having a triple heart bypass and is healthier now than ever.
Expect your Dad to be weak for quite a while. He's going to tire very easily and need a lot of rest. This is normal. Try not to worry too much. There's so much they can do nowadays.
Your family will be in my prayers, Alicia.

Great news that your Dad is doing better.
My husband had to have bypass surgery several years ago so I know a little of what you are going through. He's doing great now. I'm sure your Dad will be fine, too.
Wishing you the best Barbie
