My family lived in Annandale in the the '80s. I think Hecht's was more in Mom & Dad's price range, but I remember getting a few things from Woodward & Lothrop.

LOL you guys are funny... 
Well ok it ISN'T ME (lol) but I have definitely seen people do this on other boards... one reason is for confidentiality sometimse (i.e. posting embarassing topics - but in which case you wouldn't need to be replying to your own threads...) Sometimes people just do it to be jerks and flame people under other usernames, though I don't think that's the case here.
Often it's so they can do this:
post a topic
reply to the topic under a different username
thereby bumping the topic to the top, starting a conversation, making it more likely to get replies (in theory)
I don't really see the point though  Seems like just a lot of effort for nothing!
OK sorry didn't mean to drag this on or anything. I'm finished! (And so is my alter ego  juuuust kidding! lol)

as T'Pol said to Sarek. If I've met Anne, I can vouch for the fact that she's a real person. I cannot, however, vouch for the fact that Anne is not also posting as Betty, Carol, and Darlene. If I've met Anne and Betty, I can vouch for the fact that they're real people and for the facts that Anne is not also posting as Betty nor Betty as Anne. I cannot, however, vouch for the fact that Anne is not also posting as Carol and Darlene.
Slicing and dicing the Board into met and unmet isn't going to narrow things down. Although getting a summary of who has met whom is kind of an interesting parlor game - sort of a variation of the whole six degrees thing.

It's certainly not me doing that either. I've heard of anonymous posts on other boards, and OK, that at least is someone we can't identify... yes, it seems very deceitful to me.  I don't see the need either.Honesty is the key virtue by which I live my life. I can't lie so I guess I just don't get it.

Anyway, I think we were just answering the whole "is the board made up of 5 people?" question. Okay, it "could" just be made of of the people met, but I think we've got more than 5 on that list already.
