its been two weeks sence my cold and i'm still coughing and have a runny nose i think i have congestion. do you know any over the counter medicine i could take

Colds usually take a good 2-3 weeks to go away. My hubby had his over a month. He takes Nyquil and Dayquil. Not sure someone your age can take Nyquil though. YOu'd have to read the bottle. Robutussin is good for coughs. Hope you feel better soon.

The natural course of a cold (without taking any decongestants and the like) is roughly two weeks. I always found that taking OTC medications constantly just prolonged the cold. That said, I do take NyQuil - but only to help me sleep. That's where it really comes in handy. It lets you sleep and your body gets to recover.
