I'm so excited about no longer being bald! Here I am yesterday, being fitted for my NEW HAIR HAT! Yaaaaay! It takes two months, so I won't have it for awhile yet, but when I get it, I'll post a pic of the NEW ME!

I'm so proud of me. I'm puttin' on my Big Girl Panties and dealing with it!

You are still beautiful Bev with or without hair You have one of those faces that would look good completely bald. Not many people can carry that off!!!! I can, however, sort of sympathize with your frustration. Hubby is bald and has been since he was ohhhh 21 or so. He is so self conscious of himself that he even refrains from going to functions unless he can wear a hat! Doesn't matter how many times I can tell him that I don't care that he doesn't have hair. He is the most perfect and wonderful husband anyone could ask for. Really, he has minimal flaws so I love him with or without hair. I married him without any so obviously it doesn't matter to me. It's what's inside. I know you will feel better with your new hair and can't wait to see it!!! HUGS><><><>

Thanks Lisa!

I emphathize with your hubby. I understand exactly how he feels. When we don't feel good about a part of ourselves, we want to change it, and baldness is something we just can't change. It's frustrating, and it holds us back from being whole.

I found an extremely experienced Hair Hat Guy who knows how to do a proper fit; I have full confidence that I'll end up with a quality product that looks perfectly natural.

Has your hubby considered finding such a guy and getting himself a Hair Hat? It would do wonders for his self-esteem.

Talk it over with him and just think about it awhile....

Thanks again for your kind words.

No, at this point he I think feels like he probably would be made fun of at work because he can't wear his hat at the office. Most of our neighbors don't know he's bald because he wears a hat so it would probably only be beneficial around the neighborhood. He actually won't even go over to any of the neighbors that have pools and swim because he has to take his hat off> It's just awful for him. I feel so bad. Our children even draw every picture at school with their daddy with a hat on. It's just heartbreaking

I've almost considered signing him up for a mini extreme makeover on TV. That way I think he'd actually go for it than just show up with a head full of hair. That way everyone would know he was doing it ahead of time. I really think he'd do it though if he were picked. I think his self esteem would definitly improve!

Vanity is fun, and a total pick-me-up. I hate to say this but my fake hair is better than my real hair. I look like a wild and crazy band vixen with it on, versus poetic.

Way to go.

Kate.
