I definitely wouldn't want to know either. No need to start gendering the baby before she or he is even born! Besides, then you'd get lots of gender-neutral gifts instead of pink and blue everywhere.

That's my thought anyway... not sure if I'll ever need to put that plan into practice but hey, we'll see! lol

There are so many things in life nowadays - why ruin the sex of a baby surprise.

That and the fact that a few friends of mine have found out the sex of the baby - spent tons of cash decorating - only to find their assumptions wrong!!

Not worth the risk to me - that's for sure

My first two I found out. I had a boy first and then a girl. They PG's were so different that I just knew it was a girl with the second. But I still had to find out. With my 3rd we didn't find out and it was so much fun! I had a strong feeling that it was a girl, because it was VERY similar the my PG with my daughter. I was right of course. I had a baby girl with my 3rd! And the moment she was born was amazing....just hearing my Hubby say its a girl was pricless!!! It make me get all emotional just to think about it!

It was easy for me not to find out with the 3rd because I already had a boy and a girl. What was really fun was our falmily was going nuts wanting to know with our 3rd. My hubbys side thought it would be a boy and most of my family thought a girl. I knew it was going to be a girl. I think I would have fallen of the delivery bed if they said it was a boy LOL!!

My take is this: having a baby will already be a complete surprise. It's not like knowing the baby's sex will make it any less special. I think of it like vacation: Does knowing that I'm going to Hawaii make the trip any less special? No, it just allows me to pack the right stuff.

Now, I would NOT do one of those 3D scans, though. That seems really invasive to me.

some people like to guess...but this is a baby!! and i think it's a weird game some people play....but again, i obviously don't get why you'd not want to know.....i want to be completely prepared (as prepared as you can be) with decoration, cothes, etc...i'm pretty last minute type person...but i do like to get my ducks in a row when it counts!!!

I was opposite! I wanted to know the first one so that my baby shower contained all the right things. Not 9million yellow snow suits and onesies
The second one I didn't find out simply because I really wanted a girl since the first one was a boy and I didn't want to have to be disappointed then for 9 months wishing it was a girl That way I was completely surprised when yes, another boy came out! The first thing my hubby said was "are you disappointed" and believe it or not, I wasn't. We had made the decision that whatever our two children were, we were stopping at two irregardless. None of that keep trying for a girl thing. Besides, I KNOW I would have had ANOTHER boy Two is enough in my book!!!

Being born in 1963 there were no ultrasounds and all that so no one ever knew if it was going to be a girl or a boy. I can't think of anything cooler than being in a delivery room with my husband and him telling me if it were a boy or a girl...

I'm definitely in the 'not know' camp - for basically the same reasons regarding the differential treatment of gender. Needless to say it's a subject that will have to be worked out with my partner at the time.
