My husband and I had a "date night" Friday and saw Pirates of the Carribean. Thought it was cute. Liked Open Range better, though. My husband slept through parts of Pirates and I had a horrible headache, so maybe if that were not the case we would have liked it better. I had a hard time understanding parts of it because the English accent was so thick. The special effects were good.

What does everyone else think of it?

Ugh.. I have been wanting to see this movie since before it came out - but have either not found someone to go with me or no money/time. Will have to wait till it comes out on video.

Nugget, English accents are not hard! Maybe you were too busy concentrating on the lucious Jonny Depp to think about what they were saying!

Sorry....didn't mean to offend any English in here. Just a little hard for us'ins from out west here in Wyoming. Yes, you are probably right....I was just focused on Johnny Depp and that other cute leading man. ; )

I agree with the Johnny Depp comment, he is so gorgeous! I loved the film, see it on the big screen if you can, even if you go alone, it's worth it.
BTW Linz you look SO like my sister in law to be - whereabouts in England are you from?

From Worcester originally but living in Kidderminster now. I was in Reading in July for my sister's hen weekend, went to Bar Med for a meal and boogie - I loved the Waterfront development. Stayed at a big hotel round the corner from there, can't remember the name! (good night!!)
