Hello everyone!
I have to say, becomming a mommy has proven to be one of the most wonderful experiences of my life! I'm so elated to have brought someone so wonderful into our lives! Even though my sleep has been thrown by the wayside, of whcih I'm really feeling the effects of, I wouldn't change it for the world.
My delivery was quite difficult and we're still trying to get Kyra to latch on for nursing, but all in all, we are all doing very very well.
Thank you all for the wonderful congrats and well wishes (and thank you Michele for posting my exciting news)! You are all so sweet!
We took a ton of pics while we were still at the hospital... it's so hard to pick and choose which ones to share with everyone...

What a beautiful little girl! I am so happy for you Rachel! I agree with the advice of ignore housework and sleep when she sleeps. Trust me you will need it. Hang in there with the nursing. I hope you have a lactation consultant to contact if you need help. They are a great support!

Oh Rachel she is absolutely adorable! My favorite is the pic of daddy and his baby girl - it makes her look so small! I think we've got a daddy's girl on our hands.  And you look really good in that picture considering all you'd been through!

Congratulations! She is beautiful. Take advantage of the lactation consultant if you can. If you need any help or just to vent, let me know. I've had a difficult time nursing all three of them. It does get better the older they were. I still can't believe I made it through nursing Zoe. The dr. wanted me to give up since she wasn't gaining weight but we kept going and supplemented a bit. She finally regained her birth weight at 2 months. Now she won't give it up, lol. Soon, I'm sure. Give Kyra lots and lots of kisses .

Take it easy and try and rest when she does. I wish I could But with the two older ones that doesen't work out!! LOL
Hope the nursing goes well for the two of you. I LOVE nursing. It's the best thing on earth! Just give it some time. She will get the hang of it soon. Give yourself a good month to get things going! It takes a while to get in a routine. And the pain....will go away in a week or so.

SOOOOOOO beautiful!!!!! I had trouble getting my firstborn to latch as well. Do you have nurses that follow up at home or well baby clinics to go to? I found the nurses there invaluable. Seriously, shove it quick into their mouth as soon as they have a REALLY open mouth to get as much as you can into their little mouths. I found the first 20 sucks or so painful, but then it was OK. With my second, I never had any pain. Buy the Lansinoh cream, and if it doesn't stop hurting after about 20 seconds, PULL them OFF. It will do neither of you no good if you end up sore. Sorry if TMI!

She's just precious!!!!!
I'm with ya with the difficult delivery. I too pushed over 3 hrs and had a 3rd degree episiotomy(tear). Plus broke my tailbone with my first! It's not fun but it will heal and you'll forget everything about that nasty delivery. You are so lucky she was a small peanut! Remember when they tried to tell you you were having a big baby??? NEVER listen! They are never right about it I'm convinced!!!
Get as much sleep as you can and enjoy every moment with her. They grow sooooo fast!
