I made it through my colonoscopy and endoscopy yesterday! I'm soooo glad it's over. He didn't think it was anything but IBS but he's waiting for the biopsy results. As far as me not being able to eat, lately, he said that I have a hietal hernia.....so, he told me to go on Nexium. I have been on all of those PPI's over the years, except for Nexium and they all make me so nauseated that I cannot even look at food. But, I guess I will fill this Nexium and see if it works.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you out there who cared about my condition and have helped me so much over the past couple of months. I'm glad that I have the support that I have on these board. I couldn't have even gone through with the procedures without you guys/gals!!
Thanks so much,
Michelle

Thank you! I'm pretty crampy today and passing quite a bit of blood....he took 12 biopsies, I guess, and I can feel everyone of them!! hehehehe.....*ouch*
But, overall, I got everything out of my system...I'm eating baby food today and oat bran and I don't have much gas and everything seems to be digesting almost like *normal*.....but, I still am having reflux so I take Mylanta about every couple of hours until my insurance will pay for the Nexium....not until tomorrow *boooo* .
Thank you so much for your concerns. I'm doing better than I thought I would be, today. Been sneezing like crazy, though. I either got a cold or allergies???
How you feeling today??
Take Care!
*hugs*

Thank you! I hope it works, too. I really don't want to have to get surgery to fix the hernia if it can be controlled with medication.....we'll see. My insurance company won't pay for the nexium until tomorrow because I tried Protonix last month and it didn't work. I can't get another PPI for 30 days, according to insurance....it sucks!

Hi Michelle

Did the doc sa passing blood was normal after the procedures? Just lookin out for ya

Glad you are in good spirits...that's super! I hope all residual smptoms are gone by the time you finish reading this post (TWELVE biposies...that's GOTTA hurt! YIKES!)

Insurance. Crazy stuff

I'm doing alright, thanks...avoiding running an errand atm (I have major anxiety issues). I'll get it done though I think...when I'm ready Other than I had a LS (loose stool) today...it happens several times a year (I'm an A mostly C). I think it's the dairy I've been having I know, I know... In any case, at least I'm not C anymore

Rest up and take care *gentle hugs*

Yea, he said it was normal since he took so many biopsies. He took biopsies of my stomach, too. So, there's quite a bit of blood. Anyway, I totally understand your anxiety issues! I'm waiting to see if I'm going to be able to go to the drug store and pick up my Rx, today. I'm afraid I'm going to have an anxiety attack on the way, myself. Doesn't this suck???
I hope the doctor can find a good anti-anxiety drug to put me on for this. I cannot stay locked up inside this house, forever! Are you on anything for your anxiety?? I hope you made it to the ATM okay. Let me know how it went, k??
Take Care!

Glad it went well. I take 2 protonix every day. I don't know if it helps or not. I take paxil for anxiety. I was having panic attacks constantly. It really worked for me. I have a hiatal hernia, too. If I eat too much at one sitting I am in paaaiiiinnnn.

Hi Michelle!

For anxiety I take buspar (well, actually I take buspirone, the generic). I also do therapy which i think helps more than the med.

I'm also bipolar which could be causing the anxiety (plus I have a history of abuse).

For bipolar I take tegretol.

It gets a little better every day now. I didn't make it out today because I had D! SOO strange cause I'm usually a C. The tegretol is wreaking havoc on my system Hopefully it's only temporary!

I hope you feel better and that the bleeding stops soon *hugs* Come here to whine whenever...we're here for ya

*gentle hugs*

I'm glad the Protonix worked for you! Did you have side effects from it when you first started taking it?? It always made me want to throw up and it made me really nauseated. So, basically I would be hungry when I woke up and then after I took the Protonix I felt really sick and couldn't eat. I don't know......I hope they figure out something that will work for me really soon. I try to just take Pepcid AC but it's not doing the job right now. It only works for a couple of hours and then my reflux is back again and I can only take 2 pepcid a day. I hope the Nexium works. I should be able to get it, today.
Take Care!

Hey Ruchie!
I have Buspar, too, for the anxiety but I'm waiting for my system to calm down a little bit before I start taking it, again. It made me feel kind of funny and my attacks were getting really bad, so the doctor told me to stop taking it until I can get my gut under control a little bit. I don't know what kind of sense that makes. Wouldn't the Buspar help calm ME down, so my stomach wouldn't be in a knot all the time??
I don't know.....I'm sooo confused.

Hi Michelle!

Meds work differently for everyone! Buspar may not be the right med for you. Or it may cause you GI distress when you begin taking it and calm things down once you've been on it a while. (Tegretol makes me dizzy and nauseaous for a week to 10 days every time we up the dose BUT it helps the bipolar...so I live with it. It also wreaks havoc on my IBS as well as inducing hair loss...a very rare side effect! But i would rather be emotionally stable than anything!!)

How long were on the buspar? Did a psych. put you on it?

Hope things become clearer for you soon *hugs*

How you feeling today?

I was only on the Buspar for a few days before I started having awful attacks. I had a better day, yesterday.....I was able to eat a little more and my doctor said that I had an abnormally small colon, since I'm so small and that I may experience more soreness than usual. My colon feels like a big sore muscle. But, today, it feels a little better. After I finally got all the gas out, I didn't feel so sick to my stomach anymore.
How are you feelin' today??

I'm glad you're doing well, today! That's awesome!! I took my Nexium for the first time today (I'm on Nexium and Elavil) and I felt wonderful for a little while, then the Diarrhea hit me. The Nexium causes diarrhea, abdominal pain and headache and I have all of it except for the headache. But, I am able to eat, again, so that's awesome!! I will take the D and abdominal pains, anyday, as long as I can eat again. I have a good couple of hours and a bad couple of hours.....but, overall it's a good day!
Take Care! Enjoy your day while it's good, too!!

AHHHH, I keep losing this thread. I'm doing okay today. Rough morning from 9:00-12:00, but am finally able to eat. I went too long without eating, yesterday (18 hrs) , because of the acid reflux and my stomach was so empty that it was making me feel sick, if that makes any sense. No weekend plans. My hubby is working......maybe next weekend we will get out and do something.
You can email me at merchantg@comcast.net, if I lose this thread, again.
Hope you're feeling well today!!
