I tried to give it to him straight and he threw it back up.
I tried spiking his juice with it - he refused it.
I tried spiking an ice cream cone - mixing it in w/ i.c.
He refuses it. Furthermore, he's supposed to be taking tylenol for the fever and I can't get that down him either.
Help!!!!!
He has a chest infection and he's miserable. What do I do?

I'm just kidding! I feel for you. I remember those days when they'd spit it out all over the place---and it was always bright red! Yuck! Then you didn't know whether to give it to them again or not.

Good luck! I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you. This is one of the difficult things moms have to do.

when i have my daughter take medication that she hates i say "drink it all fast fast fast!!!" and get her all excited...or tell her that's what princesses need to take when they get sick to get better...luckily now she'll take it no matter how gross it is...but if she makes a face i'll laugh, then she'll continue to take it becuase it's so funny to her to see me laugh about it.....i had a hard time getting her to pee in a cup one time, so i did it first, then she did it...haha...sometimes its child see child do...you know?

What flavor of meds is it, and what brand?

I know, from experience that somes brands are REALLY gross, and since younger children have different tastes than adults (or even teens) have.

A few that I remember off the top of my head that were REALLY gross?

Benedryl, liquid advil, Robutussin, and a few others.

Try the ice cream again, but say that the cold of it might help his throat/cough. If not that, wait until he falls asleep. It sounds odd, but that's how my parents gave me all my cough medicine, because I'd be coughing in the night and wouldn't want to wake up.

Of course, the funniest times were when I'd cough mid-swallow and spray it all over my dad/mom.

Funny for me, I mean.

Good luck!

I know at CVS we had medicine that comes in lolly pops.

kids think they are eating candy, but really its medicine. I'd check it out on the internet or something. I'm not sure what they are called though since I don't have kids, but I have seen them.

I've literally had to pry my kids mouth open, dump it in, then if you blow up their nose really hard it MAKES them swallow it. This DOES get better, my boys take even nasty tasting stuff okay now if they can hold the spoon THEMSELVES.

GL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
