Hello everyone!

I'm hoping you all will keep your fingers crossed for DH, baby and me! We're at 37 weeks (for those of you who aren't familiar with the average duration of a pregnancy, it's about 40 weeks!). Baby has dropped into the "engaged" position and I feel like she's gonna fall out on her own! We had another non-stress test done yesterday to make sure she's doing well, and got the A-ok from our doc. I've been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions ("practice contractions") and I am so so ready to deliver! Our doctor says she's gonna be at least 7 lbs, which I think is perfect!... not too small, not too big!

I'm expecting (well hoping!) to have her by this time next week! I'll keep you all updated!

Love & Hugs to everyone!

So glad to know that everything is going well. I know you are ready to have this baby.

This is the most exciting part! Wait until you get to hold that baby girl in your arms!

Can't wait to see pictures of her. Let us know when she arrives.

I can't wait to hold her in my arms! I lie in bed at night and think about what she looks like. I also dress her and feed her in my thoughts too! It's gonna be so wonderful to finally meet her!

Thanks Linz!!

I watch those shows too! The Learning Channel has about an hour and a half of baby shows every day (there each a half hour long). If I'm not napping, I try to get all of them in. I've seen so many different births and have really educated myself on what to expect!

As for the rest... I've also gotten to the point where I'm so uncomfortable, that it's really hard to get to sleep at night. Last night, I think I averaged about 4 hours... on & off. Thankfully I don't work, so I have all day to try to catch up.

I hope you're feeling better btw!!

Very exciting!! I'm so happy for you and your Hubby!! This is such an amazing time in your life...enjoy every second. Trust me it goes soooooo fast.

So are you dilated at all?? Will you be induced?? I thought I would go early with my first....but ended up 4 days late Boys tend to do that!! So your little girl will know better than to keep mommy waiting.

Well my little baby just stated crying...so I better run....GOOD LUCK!!! Keep us posted!!!!

Have fun during labor and delivery. I swear (and most women that I've told this to think I'm nuts) that being in l&d and having my son was one of the funnest days of my life. I told this to Cara on another post: if you dare, request a mirror so that you can watch what everyone else is watching - your baby come into this world!

Great news Rachel! I cannot wait to see pics. I agree with Jules l&d was the best day of my life and I did ask for a mirror to watch. It was so unbelievable to watch my son being born! Good luck with everything!!

To my knowledge, I haven't dilated yet. They haven't checked yet either though. DH is out of town (saying goodbye to his niece who is now brain dead), so they're taking all precautions to not send me into labor before he gets back.

Jeepers! I hope we don't end up late! I don't think I can handle this pelvic pressure for much longer! It's horrible! If I don't go into labor by next week wednesday, I'm gonna do everything in my power to induce myself!... maybe! I'm still a believer that baby will come when she's ready... I'm just being a baby about my lack of sleep and inability to get comfortable!

Thanks Jules!

I hope l&d are fun... however, at this point, I'm very scared! To tell you the truth though, I don't think I want to watch in a mirror! I know it sounds silly, but I'm not very fond of looking at that part of my body... regardless of what's happening down there! I guess we'll see when the time comes though.

Hey girlie!! You're so close! Don't be scared! Our bodies are MADE to give birth. Your body knows what to do - believe me! Your job is to simply relax and allow your baby's birth to happen! You will do FINE! It will be amazing, yay! I am so excited for you!

Well I hate to tell you this....but forget about getting any better sleep once she's here!!! LOL!!! And even though my body doesn't hurt like it did while PG....my back and arms are always hurting from lugging around a big baby all the time!!! LOL...but its so much fun. I know this all goes by too fast, so I'm enjoying it while I can. My favorite time with Hailey is in the middle of the night when no one else is around!! Just the two of us!! Are you going to breastfeed?? IF so get some lanolin cream and don't be afraid to put LOTs of that on after baby is here....it helped me so much. My first two I was having pain for 2 wks...this time I put lots of that cream on and my breasts didn't hurt nearly as bad or as long!

I can't wait for your big day!! Is your mom coming soon? Do you have family close by? I can't remember...

Are you ready for baby?? Have all the stuff?? How fun!!!!

Take care!!!

OH Rachel that is soooo exciting! I can't imagine how it feels right before you give birth for the first time. You know that life as you know it will never be the same again, but at the same timeyou're having a child which is amazing and outweighs that. I can imagine that its scary though.

Good luck! I know you've probably told us already, but whats her name?

Hi Rach!!! I bet you go late. First ones always are late. Stinks! I think it's cause you want to get them out so bad but they are just so warm and comfy in there who can blame them

7lbs is perfect size you are right! Average sized baby. Did you plan an epidural? Are you just waiting to see your pain tolerance? I thought I had ZERO tolerance before I had a baby. Then I pushed out a 8lb 2oz baby WITHOUT DRUGS! Yep. Don't know how but I did!!! Got a 3rd degree episiotomy(which means split from front to back ) and a broken tail bone but......still survived. I obviously thought it was worth it cause I did it again He was only 7lb 13oz though. Anyway, good luck and I hope you do go early. Enough is enough huh?!?!?

Can't wait to hear!!!!!
