No baby yet! My due date is Dec. 19th. However...I had a sonogram at 29 weeks and he weighed 4 lbs 7 oz. For those who don't know - that is HUGE for 29 weeks. I've expected a big baby because we are big people - LOL. I'm 5'11 and Justin is a big football player type. Plus I was a big baby. We were never completely sure of a due date because of my surgery and messed up cycle...so there's a chance I'm a couple weeks ahead of schedule! They want to induce me early if he's still huge in 3 more weeks (I'll have another sonogram). I'm 32 weeks now.... I really don't want to be induced...so I'm going to try everything I can for a natural induction!
I'm doing good...very busy, but good. I'm tutoring math, getting everthing ready for the baby, taking some baby classes, trying to get Christmas shopping done early, etc. And researching! I want to know EVERYHING and anything I can about giving birth, etc. That's just how I am.
I've been sick for a week w/a bad cold, which is a pain when you can't take any meds I have a UTI too...which is no fun right now! Sleeping is really hard...and I'm SO tired. MUCH more tired than I was in the first trimester. It's hard to tie my shoes, breath, shave my legs, etc. LOL. The fun stage.
We have his room all set up and it's SO cute. I can't wait to meet him and hold him. I cry everytime I think about it!
Here's some pics.... This is his 29 week sono (He's got his hands on his chin) He looks like Justin to me!
Here is me at 30 weeks (Yes, I finally POPPED!):
Here's some more of his room!
Thanks for thinking of me!

You look terrific---and Grant's room is precious! Boy, it does sound like you are going to have a big baby! How big does the doctor think he will be? (I think that was what my boys weighed about 3 weeks before they were born!!!)
Good luck to you! Can't wait to see a picture of you holding him! Hope the delivery goes smoothly.

Oh Cara, he is beautiful and you look great and you did an awesome job on his room. Don't worry if you end up induced. It's not that bad. I've done it three times. If you have any questions let me know.

Hi Cara,
You look absolutely adorable prego. I remember those days of not being able to bend over. I used to pick up stuff with my toes!
Grant's room is precious and I know you can hardly wait to hold him.

You really do! The room is just adorable too. LOVE the name Grant. He's going to be soooooo adorable!
I went into preterm labor 5 weeks before my due date with my first guy and they told me he was 5lbs then. The stinker ended up coming late (cause they stopped my contractions with meds)and he ended up being 8lbs 2 oz so I can relate with the fear of Grant being big! He probably will be big so be prepared. However, just a note, I'm 5 foot tall 90lbs soaking wet and hubby is 5feet 8 and 130lbs and we still had a big baby. I was only 6lbs when I was born and he was only 7. God only knows how we produced our big babies! I think it's those darn prenatal vitamins. They make babies grow so big!!!!
Good luck girl! I'm so glad you shared the pics with us. Sounds like you are organized with everything so when you do go into labor you'll be fine! Keep us posted!!!

Grant is my brother's name...my only brother who I love to peices! Here he is With a beer mustache...
I practically raised him, and it only fits to name my baby after him! His middle name will be Michael - which is Justin's middle name!
Isn't it crazy how different babies can be?? They say that they usually take after their mother's weight at birth - but obviously not all the time!
I'm ready and definately prepared Just finished my birth plan! Yay!

It's so nice to hear because I don't feel like I look great, that's for sure! I mainly don't want to be induced with pitocin...I have researched it so much and just don't want to go that way unless I have to. I feel like he should be born on his birthday and not when the doctor decides.... but of course, when there is a problem it has to be done. So there's not much I can do but wait and see! (and try my own induction methods!)

The doctor doesn't know how big he'll be I mean...their measurements can be off by 20% also....so you really never know. Even if they were off by 20% in this case though - that's less than a pound, and he'd still be a pretty big baby for this stage! I'd be fine with a 9 pound baby, but don't want to go into double digits!

Hi Cara. I bet you're excited! I remember being 32 weeks prego and feeling very anxious and ready to have baby out. I had an elective induction with pitocin and everything went wonderfully. So, at least know if it does happen, there's a good chance that you won't have any problems.
I was induced at 9:30pm on Tuesday with a vaginal pill called cyto-something. Started having contractions around 1 am...then they administered the pitocin. Things started really hurting around 10am on Wednesday, so I got my epidural. I progressed at a nice rate. I began pushing at 3:30 and my son was born at 4 pm on the nose.
It's such an exciting experience! Oh, and if you're brave enough, request a mirror so that you can watch the whole thing. It's TOO COOL!

I am SO anxious! The cool thing about induction is that you can plan it -- and I am the biggest planner EVER.....but it also takes away the 'surprise' and all...and can become complicated in some cases. I'll just have to play it by ear, which is so hard for me!!
I will totally ask for a mirror!!! I think that would actually help me and encourage me! Besides, hubby doens't want to watch...so someone has to! Did you use a mirror??

Yeah I definately have the basketball look! It's really getting bigger everyday, I can't believe it. My skin feels SO stretched! But no stretch marks thank God! My mom didn't get any, so I figured I wouldn't. I can't wait for him to be done baking!

I'm a planner, too! I totally loved knowing when I was going to go into the hospital and have my baby.
Yes, I asked for a mirror, and it was totally motivating. I pushed a couple of times, and could actually see his head crowning. It really helps with pushing, because you can actually SEE what's going on down there. I had to tell the nurse a couple of times "move it to the left! no, a little bit to the right...little more...little more. THERE! STOP!"
But, if you end of having to have an episiotomy, I'd suggest having them move it. It's like a car wreck - you don't want to look, but you just can't help it. And that's something that I could have lived without seeing!

I think most prego woman can hide it from the back - as long as you don't waddle TOO much - haha!
Yeah I have no stretch marks - but I have really ugly gallbladder surgery scars! And a hole where my belly button ring was - LOL. NOT the prettiest tummy ever!

And - yuck! NO episiotomy PLEASE GOD! I'd rather tear naturally - well....I'd rather NOT tear, but with this giant baby and it being my first.. I don't think I'll be that lucky

btw... speaking of belly button rings..
how long ago did you remove yours? did it heal before you ended up being pregnant.
I've had mine pierced for about 6 yrs now and I love it... BUT my skin is starting to get all dry and flaky down there and it looks far from attractive. Not infected at all, or red, but like flaky skin. Anyways.. i'm contemplating taking it out.
plus i'm wondering if when the time comes to have a baby, is it better if the hole is already healed. i would think it would stretch more if I took it out right before I got pregannt. (not that i'm planning on getting knocked up soon.. but for future reference )

I removed mine when I was about 8 weeks pregnant. I had it for about 8 years.... they will never completely "heal" so that you don't see the hole, unfortunately...
But- it doesn't stretch at all...it's just a dot that you can see above my belly button! I'll actually probably re-do it after I lose the weight-- and since I can see where the whole was, I can probably do it myself. I never had any problems with infection or anything....but if I did, I'd probably remove it too!!

My belly button ring stretched a bit while pg...but it's gone down back to normal now. It just looks like tiny hole above my belly button. I took it out as soon as my waist started expanding from my pg. It was just getting uncomfortable for me.
I didn't get any stretch marks either. My mom didn't, so I guess that's why I didn't either. SO GLAD!

I didn't get stretch marks until the last month. I was so excited because I didnt' have one....until the very last month...I guess he was getting so huge....OH well...not much I can do about it now! LOL!!!
