I don't know if I'm in the right area, but I'm sure somebody out there will answer my question.
For the past year I have been dealing with numerous medical problems. I have seen many doctors who don't really know what to tell me. The only things that they can come up with are that I have endometriosis and IBS. I'm not really sure about the IBS though. Only one doctor told me this and another doctor went by the others word and wrote me off a prescription for the pain. I've had the medicine for a month, but haven't started it because I'm just really unsure if I really do have IBS. I have a lot of the symptoms, but the one I'm not really sure about is cramping.
Is cramping a normal symptom. I can't find any inforamtion that lists cramping as part of IBS. I get terrible pain in my right ovary especially (sometimes both). I was going through ultrasounds for ovarian cysts, but they don't think the cysts are the cause of my pain.
Other symptoms that I have are a dull ache in stomach, stomach cramping, feeling sick all the time, headache, vomiting...

Another really odd thing that happens to me...
Once or twice a month I will wake up around 2 or 3 in the morning with a terrible stomach ache. (Every time it happens I think it's the worst stomach ache I've ever had)
It is very painful and it lasts for about an hour. Once I go to the bathroom about 3 or 4 times in a row, I'm fine.
This has never happened to me during the day. It is always at night time.
Has anybody out there experienced this? Is this part or IBS or am I wierd?

I'm really not sure where to go with my medical problems right now? I don't know if the cramping is part or IBS or if it is another problem? And the stomach aches are another thing that I'm not sure about?

Please, somebody write back and let me know if these two things are normal. Actually... Let me know if really bad headaches are part of it to?

Thanks,
Rachael

Hi and welcome! You'd probably get more responses in the Eating for IBS Diet board - The Living Room is for all non-IBS related topics.

You are not alone and IBS can cause all kinds of strange symptoms - check this post for more info: web page

IBS can mimic other things, so you should have the proper tests done to rule out thos other things. Have you had any tests done?

Not that I want to add alarm to your situation but I just got an email (the massive forwarded type) about how a particular type of ovarian cancer has very similar symptoms to IBS and often goes misdiagnosed as IBS. A CA-125 blood test will detect this cancer - you might want to have it done just to rule out any such thing. I am thinking of making it part of my annual gyno visit, even if I have to pay for it myself (some insurances won't cover the $125 fee). I hope you are feeling better. Try heating pads, hot tea, warm baths, anything to relax and soothe your body - it might help and will at least feel good in the effort!
