And obviously feels threatened by you or else you could be an hour late and it wouldn't matter! Either that or he/she is a total nutcase! That is soooo weird!

I agree that as long as your being a little late doesn't affect your work, it's silly for your boss to care about it. Apparently, however, she does. That may mean she's awfully short-sighted, but I don't think it means she's nuts or needs to get a life. The most likely reason she's tracking all the times you're late is so she can "show cause" if she decides to fire you because of it. Unfortunately, if that's the case, the fact that you get your work done, don't spend all your time on the phone or the Internet, and carry the heaviest load won't matter to her. She's one of the people in the world who think being on time is super-important (there are a depressingly large number of them) and being late outways everything else you do.
(Editorial comment: I think this represents a terrible failure of management, where bosses focus on stuff they can measure - however meaningless - because they're clueless about how to judge actual results.)
It's a bad fit to be an "always late" employee with a "clock watcher" boss, but I've been there and there's probably nothing you can do to convince her being late is unimportant in the scheme of things. I gather you're leaving soon, but until then my advice would be to tread pretty carefully around this issue. If your boss knows you're thinking about leaving, tread even more carefully.
I'm sorry to ratchet up the stress level - just what your tummy needs, I know - but that's my take on the situation.
Good luck.

Tina is unionized so she does not have to worry about being fired. I agree that her boss is keeping track for a reason. But, I believe that reason is for yearly review. I also personally think Tina is being harassed as her boss does not appear to keep track of when other people are late. I know in the states it is considered harassment if you single one person out for something and don't do the same for others.
I have never had the problem for being late. I have always been an early bird. I have told Tina that she should make it a point to get there by 8:55 everyday just to avoid the issue. It is easier said than done when you have a medical condition that impedes your ability to sleep normally.

Sara, why are you always late? Is there a reason? Is it the same reason each time?
I don't know why your boss is keeping track, but you have the benefit now of KNOWING that she's doing it. Whether or not she's that name you called her, she does have authority to fire you, and that's what counts.
Frankly, I wouldn't focus so much on her -- after all, the stress is tearing up YOUR tummy, not HERS! -- but I'd take this opportunity to do whatever it takes to make SURE you're never late again. Do you like this job? Is it one you want to keep? If so, then I'd try to change my attitude and focus on being the most prompt employee she ever had, but I'd DO IT WITH A SMILE. If you "cop an attitude," she's already got her finger on that trigger, don't give her reason to pull it!
Now, having said all that, let me add that I do know how you feel. I had a boss one time who was a real hard-A$$. I was never late coming in except ONE TIME when I happened to run into a girlfriend on her way to work, whom I hadn't seen in 15 years. We were both early, so we stopped for a cup of coffee. It made me 3 minutes late. When my boss called me on it, I said, "you can take your 3 minutes and you know what you can do with it. I'm outta here!" I cleaned out my desk and left for good.
While it felt good, it wasn't what I would recommend, because it certainly doesn't bode well on a resume. Thankfully I never needed her for a reference!
Go have a Jack, get it all out of your system, then start all over -- with a big smile -- on Monday. Just remember, it could be worse: you could be retired!

Ah, good to know. If it's a yearly review, then presumably it won't be a big deal for Tina since I gather she won't be there much longer.

Yes, I agree. Hey what can you do? I think my girl needs to find a job where she works something like 10-6. I am the early bird of this relationship... I am out the door at 645 every morning!
