It'd only be short term, but it'd be the in I'm so desperately seeking. Wish me luck please! And it's special ed, my favorite.

Good luck.
I'm in teacher's college right now for J/I phys.ed It seems so unfair that most of the job ads are either for part time or short term contracts.
You're right this would definitely be an in. Most of my friends that are teachers had to work 2 part time contracts just to get "into the school" but once they were in the next time full time jobs postings came out in the Spring they were snapped up and are all fulltime.
Best of luck in your interview. Jenn

The children deserve a teacher with a heart as big as yours! What type of Special Ed population would you be working with?
And even if it's short term...you'll name will be out amongst the teachers and other people who work in the field. Once they see how devoted you are...they won't forget you when something permanent opens up!

Hey Shannon!!
Congrats on getting the interview!! I think that just getting the interview is something to be proud of, not very many people make it that far in the whole process!!
I am sending good luck vibes your way that you get in with this job, and it brings lots of good things to follow! I think that is so great that you work in special ed, it takes a very good person to do that sort of work every day! I did some volunteering for a few years with special ed kids at the high school in my city and it was exhausting! I liked it a lot, but I think it is really challenging - you must be a very patient woman!
Keep us updated!! --Steph

Well, here in Alberta, we have too many teachers and a government that's just ruining things. I spent SIX YEARS in university, and have been substitute teaching for a year. You usually o 2 years of subbing here THEN get partial contracts before you're actually picked up. it sucks. and once I'm in full time, they'll be haivng a teacher shortage. idiots. Good luck to you. I just can't wait to have a stable job in the same building every day.

Thanks so much, Beth. It means a lot.
The group would be kids grade 4-6 with mild to moderate developmental disabilities. They are SO sweet.

Break a leg, Shannon! I strongly suspect that you'll get it. It's just one of those intuitive hunches.

I find alcohol helps, LOL!!
I am patient. I just deal with things with my intestines instead of losing my cool, lol! I'll have to work on that too someday.
