*HUGS* I was going to post earlier, but it's been crazy since I got back from the doc's.

First of all, the doctor was awesome, so nice and when I told her about the rheumy I saw the other week, she agreed that the rheumy didn't know what she was doing.

Second, I do have Fibro. It's really nice to have a doc say that to me, rather than me just thinking I do. She told me the American Medical Association for Rheumatlogist's official diagnosis for fibro is pain in all 4 quadrants of the body (right and left, above and below the waist) for at least 3 months, and 13 of the 18 tender points. I had 16 of them this morning

I had a ton of blood drawn (30 vials, and I wasn't allowed to eat anything after midnight last night, so it took a lot out of me!!!) to check for various hormone and vitamin levels so the doc can get a better idea of what exactly is wrong/causing the fibro. She also gave me some supplements to start taking, one for Fibro, one for energy (it's a powder and it has whey in it, so I'm going to be supercautious with this one, think I'll take it with my acacia to be on the safe side), and one for mitochondria function (mitochondria are the energy producers in your cells, and so if something's wrong with them, it may be causing some of the muscle pain).

I go back on August 25 for blood test results and to see what's next. But if you have fibro and can go to one of these ( Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Center ), it's expensive (doc's visit $325, $150 for the supplements, and she wanted to put me on some IV therapy for supplements for back pain which was $115 and would be needed weekly, but I don't have the money or the time for that, which she said was ok), but it was sooo worth it.

Oh, and she didn't know what the peppermint caps I take were for, so I got to explain that to her, and she said she may have to recommend them to some of her other patients!

Thanks for thinking of me, Rache honey, love you lots!!!

It sounds like you have a good doctor, so even though it sucks that you have fibro, that is good news! I hope you're feeling better soon!
