Thank you to everyone for your replies and great advice a few days ago. I put a lot of thought into whether or not to get the puppy and decided not to get one at this time. I just don't think we would have enough time to spend with it and things are pretty hectic for me with just the 3 kids. Maybe someday, when the kids are older. I really appreciate your opinions and advice. Thanks!

I think that's a good idea if you didn't feel completely ready yet. They are a big responsibility. Like you said - mabye when the kids are a little older they will be able to help more, etc.

As Cara said, if you didn't feel 100% ready, it was not the right time. Good on you for making what must have been a hard decision.

Wish I lived close enough to give the baby a home. I appreciate the fact that you thought it over very seriously and although I am sorry it won't work out, you have not made a snap decision that you would regret later, potentially causing much heartbreak to your kids and the dog. Later will maybe work much better for you. Tell your friend I hope she finds a great home for her little furball... ~K~
