I just realized that as of today I have been at my current job for 6 years. That means I have a $600 bonus coming on the 15th!! WWooohhooo We get $100 for every year we stay on each anniversary!! This will either help with our wedding anniversary trip the 1st week of Sept, Fall Sprawl in Vegas the Sep 30 - Oct 2 or decorating our new condo if the offer is excepted!!

How about you?

when Luke has his birthday. But my most recent job promotion to homeschooing Mom, I've been at "part time" for a year now and this year about to start up FULL TIME - which excites and scares me at same time!!

If I could just get every living thing in this house fully poop/potty/house trained I'd give MYSELF a HUGE bonus!!!!

Hm, well, I am unemployed at the moment and have been for a few weeks now - what a bum!

Shell - I am really happy to hear that you'll have some extra cash coming your way before you go to Vegas, VERY nice!! I know my sister just got a raise at the job she has been at for 6 years and she was ecstatic!
Have you heard anything from your estate agent yet?? Keep us updated!

Yeah, in classes from now until June '06 when I graduate finally. So working parttime at the moment, parttime being if it's between 9 and 5, I'm in the office unless I have a class. Luckily it hasn't been terribly busy lately and I can get some of my homework done at work.

Well, I move from school to school per degree. I'm on my fifth semester, so I would say I've been here for 2 school years. I have 1 more year and then I will most likely be "unemployed" while I write my book. I hope some day to get a real job though.

Wow after reading everyone's post boy do I feel old and I'm only 37 (38 in 2 days!)I've been with the same company, yes 17 years and a bonus???? What's a bonus???? Never got one of those, however, one perk is that I get my day care 1/2 price which saves me about $200 a month. You are so lucky you get that bonus. Man I'd be getting $1700.00!!!!!!

I do love my job (obviously). I can honestly say that I only threatened to leave once and they matched what the other employer was gonna give me so I stayed

Before this job, I was at my other PT job for 3 years. It was very scary for me to change jobs. I don't do well with change.

I would be very happy to stay at this job until I retired except for the fact that it pays poverty level salary...so I will need to start looking again if I ever want to own anything at all...I'm still a renter and I hate it!

Right now I am working part time for the summer in a retail job until school starts in Sept. I went to university for 4 years and got my BA. Right when I graduated I started at a company and worked there for 3 years, moved up the ladder and was working full time. I decided that wasn't where I wanted to be for the rest of my life and that I would take the chance at going back to school. I live with my boyfriend and he is in his career. He was very supportive of me going back to school and will/ has been supporting us since I left my full time job. I am going back for Business-Human Resources and it is a 2 year program. I went to an info session at the school a few weeks ago and it looks like I will be one of the older people around. They were talking so much about the change from coming from high school to their school, etc and all I could think was holy I haven't been in high school for 9 years lol. I am only 25 but I am leary of going back because I have been here before. I thought I was doing the right thing the first time around!
Oh well, the world works in mysterious ways and everything will work out the way it is supposed to even if it isn't the way I expect it to right?
p.s this time I am letting my profs know I have a medical disability and they have set up some special accomodations for me.
Whew long post/ answer for you....... now ur turn what about you?

Well, I graduated with a degree in psychology, minor in business administration. I worked for a Human Resource consulting firm for a couple years, the I got real sick and had to stop working. Then, I worked in a Medical Records Department of a Hospital, then a Library, and now I work at a college library as an Acquistions Tech, which basically means I order the materials, pay invoices, balance ledger statements, contact vendors and publishers...

I want to go back to school, but don't know how I could afford it living alone. Or, what I would want to get my degree in. I've thought about numerous different career paths...School Psychology, Human Resources, Radiology Tech, Physicians Assistant, Master in Library Science, Accounting, Dietietics...you name it. There is just so much that interests me...so I guess I will just stay put until I either win the lottery or decide on a definate career path.

Unfortunately, my current job doesn't pay hardly poverty level wages, so I will be forced to either look for something else, or take out loans and return to school somehow.

What did you do before you went to school?

Since you work at a college, could you take classes there? I know here at Drexel full-time employees can take up to 3 undergrad or 2 grad courses a term for free. That's how my boss/best fried is getting is BS in Information Systems!

4.5 years is a long time for some people.. congrats!

I've been at my current job almost 4.5 years. This is not only the longest I've had the same job but also the longest I've lived continuously in any one community.

Oh! That would explain why I don't remember the post from me about being at my job for 3.5 years! In fact, I was just about to post that something wonky was going on with the boards.

LOL That is why I quoted my post from last year when I posted this year... maybe I should have started a NEW thread for this year with a link to last year in the body of it... LOL... Oh well... this will be more fun to make others think they are losing their minds too!! hehehe

She posts on the butyoudontlooksick messageboards practically everyday someone was saying...Ive been on there once or twice myself...but I dont like it..its not HOME like this place is and I would feel disloyal or something to post there...I dont like the layout either. But if you do happen to go on there you'll see she posts under the same name, but with a different email address on her profile and she has her msn spaces weblink on there too...if you want to catch up...I was going to send her a message and ask why she doesnt come on here anymore...she never used to be away from this place and it was strange when she just stopped posting...not sure why.

I'm taking a position at the temp agency itself. They called and I went in to interview today. Technically I've been at my position -5 days.

When the phone rings lately it's been good news. Finally!

I have been at my current job for a year and a half and so far thats the longest I have ever been at one place.. (Not counting the 5-6 years summer work i did for the one lady. Anyone ever hear of Mehndi?<spelling could be wrong> It's an east indian herbal henna tattoo, I loved working with her..) Feel kinda bad that I might just be leaving my job soon.. oh well, change is a good thing right? haha
