All of you who teach in the northeast are no doubt feeling stressed about the upcoming school year. I am hoping people will give suggestions as to how they keep their IBS under control during the stressful start of the school year ( my entire room is in boxes and the custodian won't let us in till tomorrow, and the students come Wednesday!) Any advice to keep 'D-Day' from becoming 'D' Day ( if you get my drift) would be appreciated!! I'll throw my 2 cents in- I stockpiled several loaves of Heather's breads to make sure I have something safe to snack on and won't turn to ice cream, etc. when I get stressed. I try to bike 6 miles every day till the snow comes ( of course in Rochester that could be tomorrow) What do other people do??? Linda

I am not a teacher but I do work in the schools as a school psychologist and next Tuesday... we're back (kids on Wednedsay). I have been trying to be very faithful about exercise as well and planning how I will keep it up once the school year starts. I have a daughter starting high school this year too, which adds to my worries (though she's a great kid, so I am just being a mom in borrowing trouble). I also HAVE to watch stress-induced eating! I ate too much sugary stuff after lunch (something I don't usually do) and I have been sooo tired all afternoon! I absolutely need energy to cover all the bases once I return to work and my kids get back into school and all their activities! Good luck upon your return! I do love the beginning of the school year, crazy as it can be. Its also exciting and fun!
