This game is on another message board I visit and thought it would be cool for all of us do it. We can all learn something way different about each other.
I will list three things. Two are true things that I have done or have happened to me and one is a lie. SPOT THE NOT.
When you put your lists down make your heading your name because it gets confusing responding.
1) I was "Security" for concerts of Amanda Marshall, Big Sugar, Matthew Good Band.
2) I have skydived twice. Once over the Grand Canyon.
3) I wrote a penpal for 15 years before meeting her after I graduated.

I say you haven't skydived over anywhere. Anybody who can't put drops in their eyes because they are too squeamish won't be caught dead jumping out of an airplane!!! Am I right?----Beaglelover

I knew it Lana Marie! I want to know more about the security for concerts. What's that all about?
Which one if my "Not"? (Beaglelover)
1. I was the only woman living with 320 men in a college dormitory. 2. I went through a mid-life crisis at age 40, and had my nose redone by a plastic surgeon. 3. I once served as assistant editor of a national women's magazine.

I choose #1 BL. I don't know - they all seem to good kinda far fetched LOL.
I worked as a Security Guard at all the concerts listed. Honestly - well I guess I just watched to make sure no one leaned against the sound stage, but I was still front row and right there!!!!

guess again! During my senior year at college, I got married and my husband served as director of a men's residence hall while he was working on his MBA. We lived in an apartment inside the men's dorm. I was "Mom" to 320 college guys! It was fun except when they would sometimes wake us up in the middle of the night throwing water balloons or running up and down the halls. I guess this was great preparation for being a mother to two boys, 13 monhts apart!

that I was the associate editor of a national woman's magazine, do you? Well, although I have done a lot of writing for magazines, I have NOT been fortunate to serve as editor of a major one. But thanks for the vote of confidence. I really did--as hard as it is for even me to believe--go through a mid-life crisis at age 40 and had my nose redone by a plastic surgeon. It had been broken years ago in an accident and I had a terrible deviated septum, so I thought why not? (It was much cheaper than a red convertible!) Although I love the way it improved my appearance, the recuperation from the surgery was the most painful thing, more so than you could ever imagine. (Yikes! It hurts to think about it.) So you guys now know how shallow I am. Hope you don't think any less of me. At least I didn't dump my husband for a younger man!

oooh, fun! I want to play!
Okay, here goes:
1. I was an all star basketball player in high school.
2. I have sung in front of a crowd of over 100,000 people.
3. I have participated in kick boxing tournaments but was disqualified for drawing blood and excessive contact.
Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I'm horrible at math! Can't tell one number from another. That's why I was a Journalism/English major. Ha! I forgot we're not trying to guess the correct answer, but the wrong one. This game is too confusing for me. Duh! I give it over to someone else before I really embarrass myself.

Sorry guys - it's not "not" that one!!!
I knew I'd throw you.
See, I come across all sweet and kind (or try to be, hope I do!) but I'm fiercely competitive. My husband has black belts in 2 styles of martial arts and so thought it would be fun to get me into it, too (this is before we had kids). Only, I didn't "spar" well because you're supposed to just "tag" your opponent but I did it for REAL, never meant to hurt anybody but didn't hold back either!
In my defense, the girl whose nose I bloodied didn't even block herself at all and just ran right into the punch, I couldn't believe it.
This is a fun way to pass the time, friends are watching the kids again for me today so I can actually participate!

Now I'm confused. I was wrong, right? The one that wasn't true was:
3. I once served as assistant editor of a national women's magazine.
Am I corect? I am not quiet awake to figure this out.

I am laughing so hard. You really don't seem like the type. Ok how about:
2. You sung in front of a crowd of over 100,000 people.
I can kind of see you playing basketball especially if you are competitive.

Hee! Hee! I'm still laughing too. Michelle, I picture you as this tiny little sweet thing. I can't imagine you punching anyone in the nose. What did you do then? Stop and apologize and give her a hug? Do we actually have photos of this? That I would like to see! Now, I'm torn. Let's see, it's singing or basketball. Ok, I'm with Torbetta. If you're that competitive, you played basketball. (I think you said you run, right?) That makes sense. Your NOT is the singing one, right?

Well, only reason is because I'm still "in recovery" from surgery. I've never had this much help in my life but I'm thankful!
You are right!!! I was NOT an all star basketball player, I was captain of the volleyball team in high school but never got into basketball, just never liked it much.
I HAVE sung in front of that many people, once, in Brazil on a mission trip. It was really overwhelming and humbling. I stood there praying they could understand my Portugese!
This was fun, guys.

Phooey! Living in Spain for a year, that's likely. But, number three, as weird as it sounds, I WANT to believe you did that, because, hey, that sounds fun and crazy! Let's see, ok, I think you made up #3. Sounds like something you'd do in junior high, not in college. Or maybe that's just because I went to a conservative Baptist university and we never did thinks like that. Yeah right! Is the maxi pad one your NOT?

I knew you all would get a good laugh out of the whole nose bloodying story. Eric LOVES to tell that to people we're just barely getting to know, then they think I'm some violent person! He gets a good laugh out of that. No, I didn't hug her but I did ask if she was okay and came over later to check on her - needless to say she wasn't very eager to talk to me.

3. My sister set me up with her ex-boyfriend and I married him.

Number 2 is my not. Yeah for Lana for guessing right! Now do I have some explaining to do BL? I ran track in high school and the 300 meter hurdles was my best event. I got the nick name "Polar Chicken". Believe it or not I'm only 5'4" and barely weighed 100 pounds is high school. I grew up in a Legalistic Baptist home, so when I got to college I was just a wee little wild. My friends and I decided to get even with a few guys and we colored maxi pads red and put them on their cars. The worst part of the story was I was attending a small Christian College and we thought is would be funny to put pads on the stop going into the school. We never got caught, but I did have enough sense to stay from the trouble makers.

for putting all those maxi pads all over the Christian campus! What a sight that must have been. (I went to the world's largest Baptist university, Baylor; where did you go?) I want to know where you got that idea. Maxi pads---colored ones---on cars??? I told you my husband and I directed a men's dorm at Baylor and those guys did some crazy things, but maxi pads? And I'm so impressed that you hold the high school record for hurdles, especially as little as you are. How did you reach over them? Just kidding! You must really be proud of that. I am so uncoordinated. I can't walk up steps without tripping, so I am r-e-a-l-l-y impressed. You must be proud of that. Now you can chase your boys around.

a singer. I can see you singing. Especially in church. At least that was before I knew you punched another woman in the face and bloodied her shirt. That must have been an awesome experience singing to that many people. I lip-sing hymns in church so that the guy next to me won't know what an awful singer I am. Wow! i'm impressed. All these people with great talents. Me, I can't sing, play volleyball, serve as a security guard, or jump hurdles. Oh wait, I could color some maxi pads and place them on cars. Maybe I could start a fad with the teenagers in my neighborhood. The MAXI PAD COORDINATOR. Yeah, that's what I could be! Thanks for the idea, Barbara.

Yes, shame on me and my friends. I attended Trinity College in Deerfield, IL for three semesters. My friends and I did a lot of crazy stuff, but the guys got even, although they don't know we did the maxi pad thing. Personally speaking of myself - I led a very shelter life and so without my parents controlling me I wanted to do all the silly things my friends got to do in high school. It was a blast to TP cars and we even froze a guy's underwear once in his dorm freezer. I just wanted to have fun without the drinking like most College kids do. At a Christian school people get kicked out for drinking. You attended the famous Baylor University in Texas. What do you think about the awful events occuring at the school? That can not make you happy. My husband wonders how I ran hurdles too, because I am a clutz and short. My oldest son is a clutz too and my husband says, "At least running into walls doesn't come from my side of the family". HaHa I like to post some more tonight, but a thunderstrom is rolling in and I need to get off the computer.

It makes me sad to see what all has happened at Baylor recently. It is unbelievable to me that the FORMER basketball coach did what all he did. They should have never hired him. He had been in trouble at another school. Unfortunately, now when I tell people that I graduated from Baylor, that is what they think of. It is a wonderful university, and I hope this doesn't tarnish its reputation too much. That would be a shame. Sic 'em Bears!

You are all wrong. Number 2 is the not.
1. I did go to Grenada in 1991, on a mission trip for three week. The sunsets were beautiful. You could see the ocean from where we stayed and we went to the beach almost every afternoon we had time off.
2. My mom and dad DID get married in Japan when my dad was stationed there in the Navy. They lived there one year and just celebrated their 33 annaversary Aug 20th. I am 27, so you do the math.
3. Ok here is the story. My sister and my husband "dated" in junior high. That is if you want to call it dating. The truth is we were kind of friends for a while and I did ask him to the prom. One month later my sister "set us up" in her wedding. We were paired off and that is what kind of started things off. Although he was hanging out with this other girl later at the reception but that is another story that I just remembered. I am going to have to speak to him about that. Anyways we started dating 2 months later and the rest is history.

It was a good decision to not attend Trinity. I left because the education was awful and for being a private christian school there were a lot of trouble makers there. Although I had awesome friends and great times in Chicago, unfortunately the education was disappointing. Besides I would have never met my husband and have three handsome boys.

Oh, that's too funny! If this is the same school, my two cousins (siblings) both attended/attend Trinity International University outside Chicago, and my uncle got hired a few years ago as an elementary ed(?) professor there. I don't know anything about the school, though, because we're not close to that side of the family....
