How are you? Doing better I hope.

I was just on the Eating for IBS board and met another person from Maryland Username zile04 (Kendra)!!

So maybe we can do a June meeting if you are up to it and try to get more people from the MAryland support board to come. I would love to meet a fellow fibromite as well as IBSer.

What do you think?

Fantastic!! I am way up for a meeting. My schedule is very open except for June 24-27 when I will be in NY.

Having never seen another one in the wild, I can't wait to meet a real fibromite! When's good for you?

Girl you make me laugh and laugh! I love the "one in the wild" comment!

Weekends work best for me b/c I don't get home from work on weekdays until 6pm. I am free this Saturday June 10th (Sunday I have to take Daughter to a kiddie pool party, all those screaming kids I can't wait!).

And I am free the weekend of the 18th and 19th.

And I am free June 24-27 (no life, I know!) so could you pack me in your suitcase? I have never been to N.Y. LOL!

Let me know your choice and then I will e-mail the new pal Kendra I met today and see what is good for her.

Can you fit in a carry-on bag? If so, let's go to NY! Or I could fly you as a pet, but maybe we'd have to draw some whiskers on you... I swear captain, it's... uh... my seeing-eye lemur!

I'm free this Saturday, June 11th during the day, if you'd like to meet me for lunch? Want to do this in Bmore, or can you come half-way, like to Silver Spring?

Sounds great. There's the Tastee Diner in Silver Spring. Regular diner food, and they don't balk at special orders. There's also a lot of parking, and it's relatively easy to find. web page

Nelly, Christie!
I feel like I did in the third grade when you nearly jump out of your seat trying to get the teacher to call on you when you raise your hand!!!
Can I come too????
Silver spring isn't too far and as long as you meet earlier for lunch as opposed to later I could make it. I'm helping a freind get ready for a surprise party that night, but I don't plan to head to her place until one or two o'clock. What do you think?
I'd love to see Nelly again and to meet Christy and Kendra!

Eagerly!!

Oh how exciting!!!
I think 11:00 sounds pretty good. I just looked at the website and I've never driven in that area before, but my husband has, so I will have to ask him about directions for driving through the city to get there, I know it will be much faster to do it that way than to head all the way around on the beltway!! So 11:00 then? How does this work for everyone??

Everytime I read about the hunch I sat up at my desk.
I can be there at 11am this Saturday! I will find directions on the internet. Can I ask what a fibromite is? I just started learning about IF and SF.

A fibromite is slang! It means people who have Fibro... Fibromyalgia. Often associated with IBS, most people with Fibro will develop IBS sometime in their lifetime.

I've had fibro since I was a little girl. I've just been diagnosed last year.

~nelly~ Hi my name is Nelly, and I'm a fibromite!

Here's a list of symptoms: web page

Personally, my biggest symptoms are Restless Leg Syndrome (gotta keep moving my feet all the time, and I kick and gnash in my sleep so violently I wake myself up), fatigue where I can't get out of bed or have to lie down suddenly, inability to walk or stand for more than 5 minutes, IBS-D, coldness of hands and feet, unexplained pain in kidney area, neck, knees and legs, and musculoskeletal pain (where it feels like my skeleton is trying to jump out of my skin).

I have a bunch of other symptoms like insomnia, photosensitivity, sensitivity to hot and cold, and this weird thing where if I hit my arm or leg I feel it daaaays afterwards even though I might not bruise.

Do some research on the web for it. There's a bunch of us who have been diagnosed with fibro. I hope you don't have it, but if you do there's a lot of support here!

That is so strange! I have never known about this yet I can relate to many of the symtoms. I do not have muscle pains though except once in a while. I can be very sensitive to smell to where I cannot eat something because of the odor. A few more things too....TMJ and so on.

LOL Tissy!!! It's lower back pain, on both sides of the spine, left and right. It's a constant thing, really achey, but not throbing or stabbing.

You know it's funny, you just made me remember this great teacher I had in the third grade for biology and sex ed, Ms. Bishop. She would wear these brown corduroy overalls and draw organs on herself in chalk. Such a cool class and a cool lady. I'd go home and draw on myself with magic marker and show my mom. Hee hee.
