Thank you for reminding me of that. I knew it in my heart that the rings are only a small part of the vows and the day we shared.
It's just that after a person gets married the only real thing they have out all the time and show everyone still is their wedding bands.

Hi Lana Marie My husband lost his wedding ring too, we've been married 16 years and I think it was about 12 years ago. He works as a carpenter and wore it quite often at first. But one day he took it off because he thought it was getting scratched and lost it! So we bought another one, but he rarely wears it - just not practical in construction!! I can relate
