Does any one else's M.D. literally curse them for drinking to much water? EVERY TIME I get bloodwork done, I am called and cursed by my physician for drinking to much water. She even makes me make an appointment (i.e. have the gov't pay her) to have me come in and have her personally tell me this for 20 minutes. Bizzare.

It is possible to drink too much water. How much are you drinking?

Probably 6 litres/day. Maybe a little more.

You NEED to keep your electrolyte levels up or you will get dehydrated and get malnutrtion no matter how much water you drink - it'll just flush through you.

Six litres, at least, I'm sure. I'm not going to worry too much about it. Vicam sent me an article re: the syndrome, and I do take a med. that causes this...excessive thirst. I'm always sipping, but I do get really big thirsts...I don't work out...it's just a pill side-effect. I actually like flushing the drug out of my system re: side effects. I'll just keep using lots of salt (sodium/chloride) I guess, to keep the electrolytes up. When I have a D streak, I get worried and brain fuzzy until I consume an obscene quantity of salt. So, I just keep shaking the salt and finding new salty things.

...as that's just one electrolyte! SO at the very least, use dashes of friut juice too.
