a sad day for me

Today was just not a good day. I have been out of work since June 12th with a back injury that is just not healing. I have waited a week for the next test to be scheduled (an EMG, anyone ever had one?) and they can't see me until Sept 4. My boss is angry that I have been out so long and I am worried about my job.

I spent most of yesterday in the ED with my husband...he has a neck/back injury from his work (he is paramedic) and he is out for a couple of weeks and in tons of pain.

I just got a new kitten (she is about 6 weeks old...was abandoned, weighs 12 oz. and is SO cute) but she has a butt problem (appropriate for me I guess) but her poor little bum is literally out instead of in...almost looks like a prolapsed rectum. I have two other cats, one is not eating and the other is sneezing and vomitting. These are my babies (I have had them two older ones longer than I have had my husband!)and it breaks my heart to see them not well.

An to top it off, the dog I grew up with (she lived with my parents) had to be put down today because she was so ill she couldn't even stand to pee, my mom had to hold her up and carry her in and out of the house. I am heartbroken at losing her, and I can't take much more of any of this!!

Thanks for listening/reading and letting me vent. I hate these kind of days.

Josie,
I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. Usually, when I am not feeling well, I turn to my pets for some love and attention. In your case, your cats are sick too and that's not good. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. We had to put down our first beagle, who was our pet for 10 1/2 years, last year and it was traumatic for me. They are such members of our family that when we lose them, it is a great loss.
I know it must be hard for both you and your husband to be out of work and suffering through an injury. I hope you have someone----a family member or friend---that can help you two get through this difficul time. I will add you to my prayer list. Get a good book, relax, and I hope you have a better day today!

Josie!

I am so sorry to hear about your cats. I understand what you are going through. I have a cat that is now 5 (I have had him longer than my husband too) and he is my little snuggle bug. He is always with me. I can't even shower without him meowing at the door the ENTIRE. Now I just bring him in with me and he snuggles up in the sink until I am done.

A month ago - he was losing alot of weight and I was so worried that he wasn't gonna be around. I was so upset that I cried all day. I even finally had to call my husband on my coffee break to come and see me to settle me down because I was crying at work for about 4 hours.

He is now fine - he was just boycotting his food (the little picketter!)

Anways - I totally understand how you feel. They are apart of the family and to imagine time without them is very difficult. I suggest planning a vets visit (I think there are even vets who make house calls because of your condition) it will make you feel alot better to figure out what is wrong with them.

You and your cats will be in my thoughts,
Take care,

Thanks for the kind thoughts and words...I couldn't imagine life with no pets! I will be taking all three cats to the vet in a few days and I know that my dog had a long happy life which brings some comfort...

I am glad to hear you are able to get your cats in to the vet. That will take alot of stress off of you....the sooner you can find out what's wrong with them, the sooner you can start fixing it.

Sending big kisses to your kittens and get well wishes for you.
