He did the tender point test (ouch!), got a blood test done to check for practically everything, referred me to a pscycologist, suggested I double my Amitriptyline (Elavil) dose to 20mg a day AND got me booked in to try a TENS machine TOMORROW!
I'm so chuffed...this was SUCH a positive step. And I only had to drive 25 minutes to reach him!

I am realy happy for you!!! It is wonderfull when you find someone who understands and is realy willing to work with you to get better!!! I will have to take Amitriptyline (Elavil) again if my VV is back again. I took it for four years from 75mg to 150mg! It made So sleepy!!!! Do you have that problem?

I was put on it to help my sleep but so far it's done nothing...I'm only on 10mg tho (well 20mg from today) - my GP didn't tell me until this week that I could take up to 10 a night with no problem! 
Did you take it at night? When I was on it for IBS my GI suggested I do that if it made me sleepy.

I took it at night but had such a hard time getting going in the am!! I once took it in the moring when I forgot to at night!! I was a zombie!! I could not keep my eyes open and ended up having to leave church and go home to bed. I slept for 7 hours straight and then was up all night!!! Oh the fun of meds!!LOL
