Bad news - my Uncle Dick died

I got a call this morning from my Uncle Dick's partner Ron. Dick killed himself three weeks ago. He was my favorite uncle. He was actually my dad's first cousin. They grew up together. Dick was such a handsome man, I always had a crush on him growing up. He and Ron had been together almost 40 years. I met Ron in the mid-60's when Dick brought his "roommate" home to Michigan for a family Christmas. I had gotten back in touch with them after my dad's death 7 years ago. I was their link to the rest of the family. Dick was such a gentle, wonderful, intelligent man. But he'd apparently gotten into financial difficulties and couldn't bear to tell Ron. He bought a shotgun from Walmart in December, Ron said, so he had been planning this for some time. He went way back in the woods near their house so that Ron wouldn't be the one to find him. Ron is absolutely devastated. What an awful thing. I wish there was a way to heal the world.

Laura, I'm very sorry for your loss. 
What a tradegy for you all. Poor Ron. I can't even imagine how devastated he must be.

Oh LauraSue I'm so sorry for your loss and I wish there was more I could say. It's always so hard to lose someone you love so much and have known so long like that.

Suicides are devastating for those left behind. And sad that your uncle must have been in so much pain to have come to such a decision.

Oh LS I'm so sorry .... That is so sad...and poor Ron and the rest of your left behind.... if only someone had known so they could try to help him...he must have been hurting so much dealing with this alone. My heart goes out to all of you...{{hugs}}
