What is your degree in and what are you doing with it? I'm inspired by the underdegree post about majors. Let's get to know each other better!
I'll start: I have an Honours Bachelor of Music, a Geography Major and a Bachelor of Education. I was teaching grade 789 music and Special Education (I have a Spec. Ed Specialist), but now I'm taking time off to raise my babies!

Well I graduated with a Meteorology BSc (weather, not meteors! ), worked as a weather forecaster for 18months in London, hated it and now want to get into horticulture.

I originally did the Meteorology as I wanted to be a professional yacht racing navigator, but the Fibro and IBS put paid to that idea! I never wanted to work in an office so I need a career change...having trouble getting a job tho. Most people seem to be scared by my level of qualifications - surely the fact that I'm APPLYING for low-level jobs should tell them that I WANT a low-level job (at least for now until I get some experience). Grr.

I have a B.S. in Individualized Studies with a concentration in Special Educations. I have no idea what I will use it for when I actually need to look for a job. Right now I'm just enjoying (most of the time ) being home with the girls.

I have an honors Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration.

I have worked as a Psychological Research Assistant for a Human Resource consulting company. Also, in a Medical Records Department of a Hospital and also in the Human Resource center of the same hospital.

Then I worked as a Circulation Clerk in a Library. Now, I am an Acquisitions Techinician at a college library.

Only my first job had anything to do with my Psychology degree! Can't really do anything with that degree unless you go on to get a masters or doctorate degree. I never wanted to do anything with it anyhow. Just majored in it because I quite my Speech Pathology Program the middle of my Junior year, so just chose a degree in the field I had the most credits in! Otherwise, I would have had to go at least 2 more years and I had no money!

I often think about going back to school for a masters or a second bachelors degree, or even an associates degree. Something that I would enjoy and that would make me more marketable and a decent salary! I'm tired of being poor! But money, working Full time, and chronic health problems are sort of getting in the way.

Bachelor's in Ecology, Ethology and Evolution, Master's in Environmental Studies, interned at U.S. EPA for 3.5 years before FINALLY getting hired full time in fall of 2003. Technically, my title is Environmental Scientist. But what I do is make sure companies report to the state, local govt, and fire department what hazardous chemicals they have on site, and if they release any to the environment and don't follow the necessary laws, I go after them with a civil administrative enforcement action.

I'm one of those lucky people who really feels like they use the degrees they earned in college. I have bachelors degrees in government and East Asian Studies from the College of William and Mary and a masters in International Affairs with concentrations in Asia and global health from George Washington University. I started working in 1999 with a nonprofit focussing on prison conditions and political imprisonment in China, then in grad school I worked on a journal involving security issues in China and the former Soviet Union. I did a small stint of researching and translation for Radio Free Asia Mandarin Service. I currently work as an analyst on East Asia at a govenmental commission that works to promote religious freedom in the countries where there are the most severe violations of religious rights.
The degrees, the experience and the connections very important in all of the jobs.
