this post is inspired by my Big Sis Tina and dear friend Linz.

Do you like thigs comfortable? Sleek and elegant? Casual? what's your style?

I go back and forth! LOL I am still figuring out/developing that part of myself.

I know I am a minimalist and I HATE clutter! I like things put away and decluttered.

I like elegant furniture with a fun rug (think black or beige lether couch with a bright red carpet...or lime green depending on my mood).

In terms of clothes I like a bit dressy (like a kacki skirt with a silk sweater set). At home though I like to wear casual workout clothes (hooded sweatshirt with knit skirt. I only wear skirts for religious reasons).

Are you neat or messy? I find the only drawback in having a dog is that I can't seem to vacuum enough LOL I like things to be clean and put away. Not to the point of losing sleep over it......LOL

Ok...now it's your turn! What's your style?

Hey there little sis. Good post! I'll play...

Comfortable and sleek, minimalist. I like fun rugs too. I think I might get that fake fur kind. Gee. my place will be the love den. he he Too bad it doesn't have a fireplace.

For clothes I like tight, fitted things and never ever baggy. No way. At home I wear jeans and a sweater or cotton shirt. I NEVER wear skirts or dresses. I need to start though.

I am neat. But that has rubbed off on me because of my stroppy ex (Linz- Is that what stroppy means? I love that word). he he I just hate clutter. It's too distracting.

I LOVE colour and prefer it to plain beige and neutral colours.

Do you like thigs comfortable? Sleek and elegant? Casual? what's your style? hmm.. I like my bed and furniture pretty comfortable, and its slightly casual, but still really sleek. I'm very into decorating and everything. Its not very elegant though.. i'm only 23. One thing though is that I'm really into color.. I have a purple bedroom, sage bathroom, bright yellow kitchen and living room and everything is accented by color. I'm really into bright cheerful things

In terms of clothes
It totally depends on the occassion.. If i'm going to school I'll wear sweaters and jeans or cords.. but I love getting really dressed up as well.. especially for my internships etc. I'm a definite banana republic/jcrew/american eagle kinda girl. I go from dressing to casual depending on my mood, how early it is in the morning, or what time of the month haha.

Are you neat or messy? oh I'm pretty clean.. I mean I hate dishes in the sink and things out of place.. but not to the point of annoyance. I've very organized though, and everything has a place. and I love clean.
Ok...now it's your turn! What's your style?

I've always wanted an orange, yellow, and red wall! LOL hubby wants a marine blue wall! LOL

I think I grew up with muted color. I like the mix of black with beige and red for some reason....i's def. a start. You guys just keep at me....I'll find my true colors yet!

Let's see...

Furniture wise, definitely comfortable, I'm all about wooden furniture with just stained, not painted (I come from a long line of woodworkers), splashes of color, like tapestries on the walls, or a bright couch (I've never really been able to decorate any of the apts I've lived in since the roomies already had furniture)

With clothes, I'm so a jeans and tshirt girl. Sweaters and sweatshirts in the winter. I grew up such a tomboy, and very self conscious of my body, so not much in terms of tight clothes, but some now, my boyfriend and my best friend have helped with some of the self consciousness. And I'm with Tina, I hate dressing up, as few skirts and dresses as possible for me. Though I don't mind dressing up for the occasional semiformal.

I'm pretty neat. The kitchen is my big thing, I have to have a clean, neat kitchen. And I've become a freak about vacuuming as well, esp with my roommates chinchillas that get stuff everywhere around their cage. My own room, I tend to let it get a little messy during the week, and then clean like crazy on weekends.

I like splashes of color with neutral/black stuff. Simple, but not boring

My personal style is rather eclectic, and a lot of it depends on the season. In cold weather, I tend to dress very preppy-classic - sweaters, turtlenecks, jeans - because it's warmer! In warm weather, I dress a lot funkier; I have a closetful of vintage dresses & tops, platform sandals, and crazy skirts. I think the funky stuff is more "me", but darned if I'm going to freeze all winter for the sake of fashion!

I don't wear much jewelry, but I have a purse for almost every outfit.

I do have a signature color, I think - red. I try to wear as much red as possible. If I can't squeak in any red clothes, I wear red lipstick. Even my hair is red now.

Decor-wise, I like warm and bright, but homey. Dark wood furniture and trim, overstuffed squishy couches, lots of quilts and afghans. Once we have the money, we're painting our living room walls rich red, and accenting with touches of gold & wild Oriental rugs.

I am so totally NOT a neat freak. My one and only exception to that is that I insist on the living room/dining room areas being SPOTLESS, especially if I know people are coming over. Upstairs, I could totally care less. My office perpetually looks like a bomb hit it... but if I clean, I lose track of everything. So I don't clean it!

Casey,

I'd like to see some of your funky spring/summer clothes. I'm sure they're cool!

When I unpack my summer clothes from the attic, I'll see what still fits me and put on a fashion show. LOL! That's part of the problem I'm having now - I've had to sell a lot of my vintage because it doesn't fit and I need the cash. But I know I must still have some that fits... and if not, well, I'll be near a Goodwill this weekend, so...

Oooh, this is fun.

Homes: Okay, I like country cottage, English style, sloping roof, beam ceilings, tile floors, and huge stone fireplace, with French doors out to a back patio, English garden with a meandering brick walkway, and huge elm or oak trees bordering the property, a waterfall in back with an outdoor spa in the far corner under the trees, and a lovely weather-proofed antique table and chairs for guests to share coffee with me.

Dress: very casual; jeans and a sweatshirt. I haven't had a dress on me since I retired 4 years ago; I don't even own a pair of panty hose (and never will, not ever again!).

Neat or Messy? Are you kidding? I'm the Queen of Clean! Too fanatical, total obsessive-compulsive disorder. Everything's at the right angle. When I was a little girl, I used to re-arrange my bedroom every weekend; drove my parents crazy. Ha ha ha

Okay, all you pet lovers are gonna hate me, BUT here goes: I don't believe in pets in beds or on furniture. My beloved puppy dog has his own bed; I love him dearly, but he is not welcome on my couch, my chairs or in my bed. He's not even allowed on the carpeting, and he knows it! The minute he sees carpet, he puts on the brakes. His home is the kitchen, the decks and patio, and the outdoors, and nowhere else. He knows his territory, and he's comfortable in it. We have to constantly clean the kitchen floor, because he brings in debris from the outside, but that's okay; it's worth it. The rest of the house is immaculate, and does NOT smell of dog.

Yep, like I said, obsessive-compulsive.

Bev

lol, I don't own a pair of pantyhose either! My mom used to make me wear them, but I hated them, and kept getting runs in them and throwing them out. Since I've moved away from my parents' house, I've never bought another pair!
