No your not. I was once offered a great design job but turned it down because there were NO sick days. Ya right.

Ask them about benefits. If it's a good company they'll give you enough days. Maybe they give personal days too? But I wouldn't volunteer that you have a condition and might need a lot of sick days. That might scare them a bit.

Don't give your notice until you find out this information. I agree with your dad.

Welcome to the European Union -

the statutory minimum no of holidays is
...
...
...
...
...
20!!!!

I get 25 in my job, Padhraig gets 28

(Tommy and Dalia's husband Asaf were very much aggrieved when we told them this at our NY meet up- the very much held it against Padhraig and I)

Sick days wise I get paid for the first SIX MONTHS of continuous sick leave, and half pay for the next six months!

This is my employer as opposed to the law though.

Last year I took about 17 sick days - 5 cos i put my back out, 4 cos of IBS, and 8 due to 2 different respiratory infections. I need a doctor's certificate if I am out more than 4 days in a row but 3 or less and nothing is required.

Sorry to gloat but its one good thing about the EU!

Much agreed on Sinead's choice of drinks! I used to drink Guiness but now I really don't understand how anyone can drink it!!! It tastes good, really, but more than one or two sips and I feel like I swallowed a basket ball!

Baby Guiness all around!!!
