Busted. Yes, I smoke. Usually about 5 - 10 a day.
Like doubletrouble, it's my only vice. I've even given up chocolate! And boy, was I a girl with a lot of vices before IBS!!

I'm kind of ashamed of it.... but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. a bit like masturbation, really...
In a large workplace like mine, it gives an interesting opportunity to socialise with people you might not otherwise outside. Like the big boss manager and stuff. It's like the dirty smokers networking session at tea times.

That is fascinating. The only thing I've come remotely close to smoking is this cigarette called a Gudang (sp?) which kinda tasted like cinnamon. I really loved them for a while. Haven't had one in years though.
Emma, as a teen I was a girl with so many vices I'm surprised there's still a girl left. Don't know how on earth my parents put up with me! Like you, most of my friends (and when I worked co-workers) smoked so it was very much a social thing. Now it's just smoking.

Haha you're so right! Hmm...shoes..cigarettes...shoes...cigarettes... yeah I'm gonna have to with the shoes. Plus shoes don't stink (unless you're feet do) AND they don't cause long term health problems.

On a side note though - I swore I'd never smoke not only because I think it's just gross and silly...but both of my grandfathers died of lung cancer from smoking and their lives were cut shorter than they needed to be and I know what that did to our families and just couldn't imagine bringing that on anyone else.

But back to the shoes....

No more tanning beds Ashely! That'll give ya major wrinkles too as you get older. Try some different sunless tanning lotions! I know it's not the same.....I used to go to tanning beds in college too and they are so relaxing..

Sorry Heather. I didn't mean to offend anyone! I just passionately hate the smell of smoke. I'm sure us anti-smokers annoy the heck out of you!

I don't hate smokers though. My BF smoked for the first year of our relationship and I started dating him knowing he smoked.

I think it is unfathomably gross. I can't understand how people who smoke can kiss anyone. Sorry. When I am meter reading I see people outside their houses smoking all the time and think what a stupid thing to do. And don't even get me started on smoking with kids around! I have asthma from second hand smoke and my grandma died from it. Her lungs failed when everything else was fine and she had never smoked- only her husband and kids!

It's gross isn't it? My friends never wanted to come over when I lived there as the smoke bothered them all.

My BF strongly dislikes coming home with me and we always take showers as soon as we're home and change our clothing. The smoke gets into everything. Ugh!

I used to bring laundry to my parents home when I visited to save money but soon stopped. Even though my clothes were clean, they all smelled like they were sitting ina smokey bar all night. GROSS!

I have never allowed anyone to smoke in any of my homes. We're mostly had apartments with balconies which is good for my parenst and friends who smoke.

I know! There's such a divide between smokers and non-smokers.

You have a tough ride if you ever want to quit as it's nearly impossible to do! Have you ever thought about quitiing? Just curious?

There are some places that don't like to hire smokers cos they get diminishing returns from those who have to pop out every hour for a cigarette. I get so frustrated with smokers leaving their posts when I do a conference, and then I find them outside, on the clock, talking sports with the bellhop or something. It drives me crazy.

I can't smoke cigarettes cos I have asthma. I will, however, puff on an occasional cigar at a poker game or at the track.
