No I don't. I'm a former smoker, too. I quit cold turkey like Casey also after having smoked for 10 years.

I am a smoker too. Not exactly a closet smoker. All my friends and family know but as far as telling people (like in this situation) it makes me a bit uncomfortable cause I know people (not everyone obviously) can be very judgemental about it. I only smoke outside and it's the only vice I have (I don't eat much take away, I don't drink never do any other sort of drug) and yes I would like to quit one day but I guess I'm just not ready yet.
PS. Sorry had to edit. Title looked wrong. I don't mean that yay you smoke, just yay that you're so honest.

when you say it's your only 'vice'. My friends used to tell me that if they were me they'd be doing much more than smoking cigarettes with all of my diet limitations!

That is really interesting! I don't think I've ever heard anyone put it that way before. So how come if you don't mind the smoke, why don't you just smoke? Had you smoked before in the past and quit and miss smoking that you do this now?

Started when I was 11 and quit at 21! It's been 10 years now since I quit and I'm glad I did! It's a very very difficult addiction to get rid of!

Funny Ruchie I was gonna specify what I meant when I said smoke cause I thought then that maybe I'd get responses like "I don't smoke cigaretts but I smoke the funny stuff" but then I read your response and read cloves...I never heard of that! What effect does that have? Is it a health food thing? I know that sounds dumb but aren't cloves a spice and spices aren't bad for you?

I once thought I was smoking pot when I was like 13 and it ended up being oregano! Too funny, we all acted high and all and here it was oregano!

Started when I was about 15 (young and stupid) and now just have so much stress that the idea of having more stress on top of that I think I might die and as I tell mum, I might die with a ciggy in my hand but at least I'll die doing something I enjoy (well most of the time anyway.)

10 years is a long time. It is hard to quit. A another girl I work with is kinda on a fixed income and she just purchased her first house and knows she will be struggling so she thought if she quit she'd save like $300/mth not paying for cigarettes. She quit cold turkey like 3 weeks ago and she's struggling. It's been tough, she's really moody and is eating all this junk in place of smoking....she's doing it though for a purpose and that's to save $. Amazing how much they cost!
