Wow, what a way to start the new year! Yours tellin me!! But really I told Shane this morning when I was doing the dishes....I sure was glad he was up when the fire started.... about 11-12 years ago now on New Years Day Morning (about 7am) I was woken up by my ex boyfriends father (we all lived together at the time) that we were flooding.... we lost our apartment that day...very scary!! But only water damage....fire would be DEVISTATING!! I hope Shane is better now. Holy cow, I can't believe the fire story!!! How scary!!! I better get a fire extinguisher. YES, get one for sure....that is the 2nd time in about a year that we have used it...and both times in the kitchen.... the kitchen size ones are only like $15 and SO worth it!! I'm glad you guys were able to put it out.

Wow, Shell, talk about an exciting new year's but not exactly the type of excitement anyone would like on New Year's Eve. Its good to hear that the fire was contained and Shane was feeling a bit better. I hate those darn stomach bugs. They just sap every ounce of energy out of you.
Well, look at it this way, tomorrow HAS to be a better day, right?
Happy New Year again!

Man, that was some New Year's Eve. Sorry your hubby was sick. My son had a stomach virus over the weekend and he had it coming out both ends (sorry!)--- at the same time. Thankfully, the virus only lasted 36 hours.
As for the fire, you are lucky it didn't get out of control.
Hope the remainder of 2005 is better for you two!

Wow! I'm sorry to hear about the fire incident and stomach bug...That is no fun!! That was lucky you could put it out, and I'm glad to hear he is getting over it...I just have to share a funny/scary fire incident we had at my house last week that this reminded me of! My mom and I were re-heating a loaf of bread in the oven for company, and we accidentally turned on the broiler. All of a sudden, I noticed a substantial amount of smoke in the kitchen and we opened the oven to find a blackened loaf of bread with huge blue flames!! It was like Italian bread flambe!!! Soo scary! So we took the bread outside (fortunately it was raining! ) and it went out, but then of course our 2 smoke detectors went on and we had to open all the windows despite the rain. We were really frazzled at that point, but at least we still had enough food! It's really funny now that it's over. Also, incidentally, two of our guests and my BF had a stomach bug last weekend as well...guess it's just that time of year...
