It's weird because it breaks my heart to see all the images and stories in the media, but yet I can't stop reading and watching the news for more information. I really want to donate some money to the funds that are growing so I'm going to rework my budget in hopes I can donate some tonight.
Does anyone have any family members or friends from the affected areas? If so, I hope they are safe and sound.

You can go to Amazon.com and donate directly to the Red Cross from their website. Even $10 will help.

Unbelievably, I have a friend from London who is currently on hols in India! I called her cell this morning, and she says she's in the North, where it's business as usual!!?! She tells me that you wouldn't even believe there was something going on in the country based on the normalcy she was experiencing! Too weird! Big country, I guess!

India is huuuugggge...Its a continent with one billion people so there is no way the north will remotely feel what is going on in the south...plus the north is all himalayas and snow and the south is all beachy and tropical..the people speak totally different languages...I love India so much, been there twice.

I can't donate blood or plasma, but I am donating money, and I urge everybody to go out there and do just that.
I've been advocating this everywhere online, and I plan to go spend time at the Red Cross near my house, to organize something to get more funds. There is so much devastation over there, every single bit helps.

I'm sure with this major disaster the flights there will be very cheap as they'll need tourist's money to help restore their economy. That is is the resorts still exist.
So sad.
