I need help finding music to burn on cd's, where is the best place to go? Legally of course

I want to surprise my h, and make him a cd with all his favorite songs. I wanted to do this for Christmas, but, never found the time. So I guess it will be for Valentines Day.
I need a safe, hopefully trustworthy place that I can pick out the songs I want and burn them. Can anyone help me? Please? Thank You!

I like walmart.com. The songs are 88 cents, and the software that it comes with is pretty easy to use, for burning cd's and stuff.
