I know, I know, the holidays aren't about the presents, but come on, everybody likes getting gifts! So I'm going to act my age (hehe), and ask you all what your best present/presents was/were!

My father spoiled me a bit, because he'll be out of town for a vacation on my sixteenth birthday. He gave me:
-a graphics tablet
-one hundred dollars
-a hundred dollar gift card for Chapters bookstore

I think my eyes went to the size of dinnerplates when he handed all that too me!

So, bring on the material worth! What was your best material gift this holiday?

My father got me the Kitchenaid food processor (in candy-apple red!) that I've been wanting for years now.

My mother got me EVERY knitting-related book on my amazon.com wishlist. I still haven't looked through all of them, haha.

Yes, I am spoiled!

Wow, you sure did clean up!

Ok, my favorite gift from my BF was a velour hooded sweater with matching pants. Super soft and perfect for lounging around in. This is the colour that he choose for me too. He did well! http://www.oldnavy.com/asp/Product.asp?wdid=200950&wpid=2463327

My next favorite gift is a hand knit beautiful blanket by my BF's mum. It's GORGEOUS and so intricate. It must have taken her ages to do. She even matched the colours perfectly to our living room. (It's a couch blanket).

Third favorite is two sweaters that are totally my style picked out by my 11 year old niece who knows me so well!

And lastly, my 7 year old niece pulled me aside and sang a lovely Christmas song to me in private. I almost cried but didn't as she wouldn't get why I was crying. I will never forget how special that was.

I got lots of other fabulous gifts but these are the ones that mean the most to me.

My best present was the puppy I got - but we got her early in September so it wasn't anything new for Christmas in that sense, but she's so darn cute!! You've all seen plenty of pics of her

The rest of my Christmas present involves me still owing for my summer in Italy and swearing that I didn't want Birthday or Christmas presents for like 10 years Well thankfully it didn't take that long and I think I've settled my account with my parents. Phew!

My food processor! And my microwave (that one was a surprise, since I only broke my old one a week before Christmas, and had already submitted 'Sheri's Christmas List 2004')
I was VERY spoiled this Christmas!

Oh man, I made out like a bandit this Christmas. I now believe that there is such a think as too many gifts!

My favorite gifts include:

  • Sewing machine that my dad gave me - he's thrilled because I can now hem his pants!
  • Pajamas that Mike gave me
  • and my bench that Mike made for me for my patio. I will have to take a picture later because it's a beautiful bench!

I know you said, "best MATERIAL gift," but I don't have one. I can always run out and buy new socks or a new sweater, maybe new slippers or a robe ....

My best gift this entire year has been finding my Sis. She's the BEST! (That's "Barbie" to you guys.)

Hmmmmm...mine of course are all my cute handmade presents that my kids made in school.Ya know the kind that are ornaments made around their pictures and stuff. I know they will eventually stop so I must appreciate them now!

But material things would have to be
$250 cash from parents and inlaws (which mind you I spent $150 already. Got a cute black wool pant coat at Burlington Coat factory. I'm addicted to coats. I buy one EVERY Christmas!)& a pair of black boots.
The other Nelly can appreciate..... A Clinton Portis Jersey from my hubby!

I would have to say spending my first Christmas with my son! It was so great seeing him try to open his presents and be more interested in the paper than the toys!!

    * I did get a lot of fablous new clothes, an awesome coat, and some great black boots. Which my father fondly calls my street walker boots!! Could it be because they are high black boots with a great big heel!! Anyways they are great!

Candy-apple red! That's cool, I didn't even know they came in designer colors!!

My fave gift was a cell phone that's on the same plan as BF AND my mom. It's got a camera, AND a video recorder too!

Thanks, they're so comfy. Yes the pants are draw string and are low rise so they're perfect for us IBS gals.

I don't know if they'd have any left in your city. You can order them on-line too.

Are those old navy pants "TRUE" drawstring or do they also have elastic ALL the way around the top? I usually find that the all elastic waistbands are too tight and its SO hard to find the ones with just the elastic in the back with drawstrings!

I made out like a band-it!! I got clothes and an emerald ring from hubby. I got toe socks, gloves, mittens and $50.00 gift card for JC Pennys, hopefully to be used for maternity clothes! From Wills family, I got scrap book stuff, a pretty tin garden mibile, a beautiful vase, some bath stuff and some christmas decorations!

But my best gift of all is being pregnant!!!

They have a true drawstring waist band! Very comfy. I can't stand elastic all the way around.

I recommend them for all IBS women who need something cute to lounge around in. Plus, my boyfriend loves me in them. I'm so soft and cuddly.

Your url is to the top, which ones are the pants with the true drawstring? I think I'm going to order a pair! Since I'm pregnant now I don't want to buy many pants until I need maternity but I need some comfy loungey clothes and if they are low cut drawstring, I'll be able to wear them for several months yet!

Do these run big or small? Like if you wore a 5/6 would a small fit do you think? Or more like a medium?

    Hi,

I would have to say my best "present" was becoming a granny for the first time. When little Marisah Anne was born in November that was one of the biggest thrills of my life.

Also, I would have to say my friends on the boards who have been so helpful to me......especially, Bevvy, my adopted Sis, who has made my life so much more fun.

but with my phone and PDA dying DH got me a new toy to replace both- it should be here later today! anyway... we had decided no gifts for each other until we moved, but I got him some much needed clothing he hates shopping for and he got me this... and it probably blew the budget completely out of the water for gifts, but I would have spent close to as much anyway replacing the 2 seperate devices...

    my new toy- audiovox 6601
