I briefly mentioned this in a previous post (Re: Oh what a night). I thought I was having a very bad IBS attack but this is the stomach flu. I feel horrible and am so nauseated and extremely tired. Is there anything I can do to speed up my recovery? I am not vomiting nor do I have D anymore. I think the Imodium I took on Sunday, thinking this was an very bad IBS attack, has constipated me?
I am home sick today and I just took a Gravol. I can't see how I'll be able to make it in to work tomorrow.
My BF isn't being all that great. I asked him if he could get me some fresh ginger when he did errands earlier and he said no. Now he's telling me to stay away from him as he doesn't want to catch it.
All I can do is sleep and pray that this stupid tummy bug gets out of my system ASAP!!

Oh, that sounds like a typical guy thing! No offense to the guys on the board, of course! I'm sorry your feeling so bad right now, I also have a cold and it sucks! I'm not sure there is really anything you can do but be sure to drink plenty of fluids and rest. Take tylenol for the body aches, a hot shower might help you feel better, or a hot bath if you can't stand that long! Feel better soon!

SS,
Feel better soon. I wish I was able to make you some homemade-low-fat-chicken-yolk free-noodle soup.

Awww, I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so crappy... and that the BF isn't being much of a help. I don't have any suggestions beyond what Michele said, but I wanted to say that imodium constipates me, so it's possible. Hope you feel better soon!

Wow, your BF sure isn't very sympathetic, is he?!
I don't know what Gravol is, but if it's an antispasmodic, I would think it would help. Otherwise, Heather's peppermint caps should work if you have them.
I wake up a lot with nausea, for some reason, and tummy mint tea helps me -- as well as a sweetheart of a hubby who serves it to me in bed, together with a heating pad for my tummy. A hot jacuzzi tub works wonders as well. And I wouldn't worry about missing a day or two from work; if it's truly a bug, they don't want you there! Stay home and get better.
Next time the BF has a cold or a flu bug, just remember how supportive he was for you.....

Hey Bev!
No he's not very sympathetic at all. All I wanted was for him to get me some ginger root and hr couldn't do that. I ended up going to the store myself with no makeup on, hair a disaster and looking like I was going to throw up. It was not a good experience. But I needed some other things and he obvioulsy was not going to help me out.
Gravol is a anti-nausea pill.
I spent 20 of 24 hours in bed yesterday. So it is a complete blur for me?
One thing my boss is afraid of is the stomach flu so I know she wouldn't want me at work if I'm still sick. I took today off but should go back tomorrow.

Thanks Casey. I read what you wrote about that e-bay gown thing and it made me laugh. You should take a pic of yourself in all those designer gowns.

Thanks Michele. All I can do is drink liquids and eat very mild safe foods.
I haven't been this ill in ages and hope it's out of my system ASAP!

Thanks.
I'll make myself some vegetable broth soup soon. Maybe that will help.
