Okay, so I'm the big Six-Oh. It ain't no big deal. Damn.
Started out with a mornin' cuppa (I can get away with ONE cup) and a goobery gicky birfday cake -- then of course the subsequent cramps. So I said to myself, "Self, I ain't gonna spend my 60th cramped up in bed!" And, guess what? The cramps went away! Yaaaay! It was totally mind-over-matter. So I jumped on the rowing machine and burned off the cake. And, you know what? I feel damn good! Yeah!
Hubby gave me a deep freezer, some African violets (the only plant I can grow), some Oscar body bath (my fave), and lotsa kisses. He's taking me out to our fave restaurant for Thai salmon salad (which always makes me sick -- but totally worth it!), then a walk along the water.
It's a good thing.
Thanks again, Guys. You're the BEST! (Especially my Sis; I treasure your friendship, Barbie.)

Gee, now I DO feel 60! EEEK!
It was a GREAT day yesterday. Hubby took me to our fave restaurant, Anthony's-By-The-Sea. I ordered my fave "Ponzo Salmon Salad Bowl" and a double Screwdriver. While waiting for the drink, I chomped down an Equalactin and a dinner roll that I brought from home (the waitress threw me a frown, but I was ready for battle, oh yeah!). Then, this is all I ate: The very strong drink, and a HUGE salad, with grilled salmon, hot rice, and Thai dressing. Then, for dessert, Don insisted we order their "Melting Chocolate Cake." OMG! Guys, this stuff is to DIE for! It's chocolate cake filled with hot fudge sauce, covered with vanilla ice cream and strawberry syrup. OMG! I cut into the cake, and the steam rose up from the hot gooey gickey fudge sauce inside. OMG! I removed the ice cream and syrup, gave them to Don, then I ate the ENTIRE cake. YOWZA!
Damn it was good. DAMN! I have NO regrets, absolutely NONE. It was the best thing I've EVER eaten -- EVER!
I was soooo ready for an attack. I just KNEW it was gonna hit any minute, so I insisted we drive straight home, as soon as possible. I left that restaurant with a STUFFED tummy -- the biggest trigger for me -- and waited all the rest of the day and night for the inevitable. But guess what? It never happened.
Needless to say, I haven't had anything to eat since (it's been 17 hours), and no attack. No poops either, but hey, I'm a D, so it's nice for a change!
Thanks again guys -- you all are SUPER! Now I'm goin' back to bed....

P.S.: Did I tell you guys that Barbie sent me a fabulous book on "The Sopranos" for my birfday? It's SUPER; I've already read half of it! Did you guys know that The Sopranos are REAL? And those episodes on TV REALLY happened! YOWZA!

Glad to hear you had a great B-day, Fairy Godmother! And don't worry about turning 60. I heard 70 is the new 50, so that makes you 40, right? Haha. I hope reading about my stress and all the other 20-somethings' stress, you'll remember that it wasn't so much fun being THIS age. I think you are having a better time than anyone else!

I miss talking to you, I haven't been on the boards much lately. I have been busy with my Mom and Sister, my Dad is having a lot of problems right now and I am trying to be supportive to him. It's hard to do when we haven't had much of a relationsip for the last 25 years. But I am trying, and so is he.

You're from Grays Harbor? Nice. We're further north, on the Canadian border. Oh, Anthony's is FABULOUS! LOVE that place! And love that dessert! I ended up with a very unsettled tummy yesterday, but it was SOOOOO worth it! Ya know, sometimes ya just gotta goferit, then suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune afterwards....
Your grandma knows good places when she's been there, oh yeah!

I hate to pop your bubble, Panda, but that rumor ain't true! Hubby turns 70 this month, and he ain't happy, oh no! I can't even MENTION that it's his birthday, let alone buy him a card or a gift. He ain't no happy camper, believe me!
I will say this about your "20-somethings stress," though. You're right; I wouldn't trade places. When I was "20-something," it was a fun time for me. No IBS, and no worries like all you ladies have today. I had hair then -- and a body too! Oh yeah, them there were golden years....

Even so, I wouldn't trade the hair or the body for the times. So I'll wear a girdle and a wig.
That's okay; I have my memories. Me and Ms. Barbie-Anne. We're quite a team, we are we are, us old 60's broads. We're always comparing notes on "the good old days," like back in the '50's screaming at Elvis concerts, (and the bad), like where we were when Kennedy was shot, and what that nightmare was like for both of us at the time....

Yeah, I wouldn't wanna re-live those days, no way -- but I wouldn't wanna be 20-something either, having to work with IBS -- what a nightmare! I couldn't do it. I admire you guys who can.
