I'll write if you guys do!

What kinds of things do you like to write? I'm leaning more toward science-fiction/fantasy.I am thinking chicklit with humour, also childrens stories, but have this idea at the moment for an advice type book...watch this space. My trouble with writing is that since I'm not working, I feel guilty if I'm sitting down writing instead of looking for a job Funny that doesn't apply to all the time I spend on the board ... I know what you mean about the time on the board, good luck with the jobhunt, what are you hoping to do? Keep the writing up though

I second that it would be nice to read Heather's poem. I love reading other people's work (though I'm no good at poetry).

On the original topic, b/f thinks that I should stay, but I can't get him to explain why. More discussion needed.
He'd probably miss you too much!Need to talk to him though

By the way - my b-day is on St Paddy's Day Mom used to say my dad was out drinking green-beer on the day I was born We have some Irish way back in the line, but mostly we're a mix (supposedly have some Native American in there somewhere too). Not alone am I Irish through and through, my parents and grnndparents are from the same county too, no exoticism in me!

Anyway, have a nice night ladies!

Don't be so hard on yourself Heather, that is really good.
Lets all resolve to give more time to our writing then.

OK. Where am I going to get the time to write though? I'll have to get you to sign a nondisclosure agreement if you are going to proof anything! (I AM a lawyer you know!)

... to say I really love your poem, Heather! maybe one day I will share my "narrative setting a mood" essay I had to write for English COmp II last year, I was so self concious about it (wrote about something real- my experience moving out), but the proff gave me an A (no one else got one) and wrote TONS of positive comments, and he is not the type to suck up to someone, so I guess it was pretty good! I have never shared it, I will have to dig it up.
Lets just say I am now proud of my work! i have always had a knack for writing, but no real insane talent, and no serious interest or drive.
Hope to see something of yours in print again!

Did you ever read Foucault's Pendulum? Umberto Eco had this as a running storyline. The NLS publishes poets to market their yearly tome to authors. Did you buy one?
