Hi, I'm new to this. I have been having LOTS of problems with digestion after taking Forteo injections for severe osteoporosis. I quit after only 3 weeks of shots due to severe gastric pain, nausea, etc. Anybody know of a DR. who could help in both areas of problems? Or any suggestions for helping me out with this flare of IBS symptoms? I had been doing SO well before all of this!

Hi Mary,

I don't have osteoporosis but osteopenia (the potential for it). Actonel upsets my stomach, I'm afraid to take Evista for fear of blood clots and right now I have the nasal spray and am afraid to use it because it causes headaches.

Don't know what I'm going to do. I can't even take too much calcium because it caused "C". I can take tums but I need more than that.

I'm sorry you are having a tough time. Have you tried any of the above things?

You may try a search on the net for info. I think when I have some time I will do that.

Sorry I couldn't be helpful.

Good Luck
Barbie

Barbie, I have had osteoporosis all my life and have been able to control it with calcium (liquid, because I can absorb it better) and lots of walking! Now it is much worse and don't know where to go next. My husband is a real dear and is so persistent about my medical care so I'm sure he will find someone for me. I also have Fibromyalgia and many other illnesses that go along with that syndrome. Thank you so much for caring. And I wish you the best also.
