i'm pausing here between trips to the bathroom--
I'm in the middle of an attack (for the last 2 days) right now at work and the bathroom is very small and very public.
I haven't gotten much sleep since Wednesday when it started, right after my dentist appt., and now it's Friday and I'm still doubled over at my desk.
I'll be fiiiine as soon as every thing's outta me, but it's taking its sweet time and I need some distraction between mad dashes across the hall!! I know I only have about an hour or so more of this, because for me it's always worst at the end.
Can anybody make me laugh or post some funny pics or something? Gotta go-- be back

Nel, do you have any Imodium? You need it.
Are you also having cramping? Do you have an antispasmodic? You need that too.
I keep an emergency medicine kit in my purse, so it's with me at all times. In it I have:
1. Donnatal
2. Hyoscyamine
3. NuLev
4. Lomotil
5. Imodium
6. Beano
7. Equalactin
8. Potty Wipes
The first 4 are prescriptions; the first one is dangerous, so I use it only on emergencies (but it ALWAYS works, for both cramps and diarrhea).
You need to figure out what brought on this attack. Do you keep a food diary? I've been keeping one for over 3 years now, and it always tells me what I've eaten that I had forgotten about -- even days before, which can cause an attack.
I'd call my doctor right now and ask for a prescription. You need some help. At least, you need the Imodium and some Equalactin, both of which are over-the-counter meds.

Oh my god that's funny.......! You crack me up, Heather. I'm still at work and i'm still sick, but I'm going to take my pain meds and immodium soon and it'll be ok...

Glad you liked it.  Take your meds and when you get home lie down and take a good rest. Do you have a three day weekend this weekend? If so I hope you enjoy it and get better soon.

Hey H,
I'm not great. i've been having attacks since the original post, and I've been having a hard time of it. I've got a bad work, money, insurance, dentist situation and it's been compounding the IBS.
Thank you so much for asking about me... i've been too ill to do more than read a little from the boards and I've missed the company. You rock for thinking about me!
I'm thinking about all of you in my isolationist, painful state!!! Things were going so well for me and now this. It's hard for me to think this will be a part of my life 4evr, lurking in the shadows until I let my guard down, or waiting until things get so bad in my life to rear its ugly, destructive head.
Anyway, I plan to post more once the sit has stabilized a little. I actually had to strip down to nothing just now, the sweats got so bad for me in the b-room... it's not a great time for me, but I really appreciate the comfort I find here!

Oh honey I am so sorry your having such a rough time right now. I know what you mean about thinking this is 4ever. I am having a hard time coming to grips with it to. I was doing real well for about a week and now I am back in pain.
This Sucks so much don't it? I realy wish there was somehting I could do or say to make it all beter. I am thinking about you and praying about you. I hope your feeling better soon.

*tearing up* Thanks so much for the support, Heather. The anxiety is so overwhelming... I know you understand it, too. It's just so hard being stuck at work, sick. Thank you for your kindness.
