Hi guys,

Well, yesterday I was out in the yard (barefoot) and I stepped on a rusty tack. It is really sore today in the area of the bottom of my heel where it curves. It especially hurts when I step on hard surfaces (barefoot again). It doesn't look like it's infected.

I know, I know, I shoulda had on shoes but I didn't wanna! Hubby always gets after me for going outside without shoes!!! I'm sorry.

I made it through work OK but it is bothering me now. I think I had a tetnus shot a couple of years ago when I went for my pap test. The doc just said why don't you get one because you never know when you will need one and it lasts several years. Anyway, I am going to call my doc in the morning and ask when I got the shot and if I should be OK.

I think it's just sore because when something sharp sticks in your foot it will tend to be sore! You think????

I think I <<<might>>> start wearing shoes outside even though I don't wanna!

Rusty tacks are nothing to take lightly. Soak it in hot water, clean it real good, and use an antiseptic like Neosporin or BFI powder. I'm glad you're calling the doc in the morning.

Your Sis thought of you today when she tripped over the dog bed and fell on her side, scraping her elbow, bruising her shin and hurting her right boob. All I could think of was, damn, I'm just as Klutzy as my Sis!

Thankfully I landed mostly in the dog bed, so I got a little cushion under me, but half of me landed in the dining room, the bottom half in the kitchen, the dog bed under my tummy.

Whassamatta with us, anywho?! We gotta start lookin' where we're goin'!

I need a Jack. So do you. Purely for medicinal purposes......

Hey Sis,

Are you OK? Sorry you fell. Too bad you had to follow in my footsteps. We are a pair aren't we?

Take care of yourself and let me know how you are doing tomorrow.

I am going right now to soak my foot in hot water just like my Sis told me to. At least it's not the same foot that I fell on and bruised a couple of weeks ago.

Go get Jack....I'm going for a Tofutti Cutie to console myself!

Barbie, the shoes are a must from now on. Bev's right, you don't want to mess around with rusty nails, tacks, or anything else!

When I was a kid, I stepped on a rusty nail two different times and had to have shots both times.

I'm glad you're calling your doctor!

Let us know what you find out.

...because I'm right there with you and Bev!

Hubby and I went to the mall last night, and I don't remember why, but I was holding his hand and kind of sliding my flip flops around on the floor, acting like I was going to fall, and then... yep, the foot slipped a little further out, and it was only my grip on his hand that kept me off the floor.

See, ladies? I don't even need anything to step on or trip over. I just do it to myself!

Girl, I always go without shoes, its not a smart thing. I have been trying lately to keep a pair of shoes by the back door to slip my feet into, I don't always do it though.

I hope your foot feels better soon, watch for red streaks. Good idea to call your doc. Thinking about ya!

Barbie,

I'm sorry you hurt your foot. Those puncture wounds hurt more than anything else. Hope you are feeling better.

I am always tripping, over stairs, cracks in the sidewalk, or nothing at all. Sometimes I fall down and other times I am lucky enough to catch myself. I also cut corners too close and am always bumping into things so I continually have bruises. The other day I was bringing the video back to the store and hubby was waiting in the car. On the way in I tripped over a crack in the sidewalk. I did catch myself but it was one of those things that you look around and hope no one else saw you. When I got back to the car hubby said I saw that. I don't know if I just don't pick up my feet enough or what.

Here's to careful stepping.
