IBS and frequent abdominal "bugs"

I seem to get what I think are abdominal flu-like bugs quite frequently. I'm wondering if this is all really just part of my IBS? It'll last for 2-3 days, and in addition to the diarrhea (starting out with cramping), I'll have other fly-like symptoms-headache, body aches, need to sleep a lot. Does anyone else experience this? Is it all part of IBS, or does having IBS just make you more susceptible to everything that goes around?

The symptoms you describe are common IBS symptoms. IBS isn't likely to make you much more susceptible to disease. Foods containing lactose or excess fructose such as high fructose corn syrup can cause the diarrhea and flu-like symptoms in some IBS people.
